The 30th National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. local time. This DEA-sponsored initiative provides free, anonymous, and safe disposal of unused or expired medications at thousands of locations nationwide, helping to prevent drug abuse and protect the environment.

We will partner with Wood County Sheriff’s Office - WV to host this event. Make plans now to join us!

At 18:35hrs, Station 20 was dispatched Automatic-Aid to the 1700 block of Lake Washington Road for a structure fire with flames showing. E23 arrived on scene and placed two lines in service and extinguished the fire in the basement/rear of the house. Units on scene were E23,E21,R25, E31,T32,T34,E11,WCSD,CCMC EMS, and Wood County FIT.

At 21:17hrs, while clearing a MVA on Dupont Road, Station 20 was dispatched to a possible structure fire on 20th Avenue in South Parkersburg. E21 arrived on scene within minutes and units confined the issue to a burnt bathroom exhaust fan. The attic and other spaces were checked for extension before the home was released to the homeowner.

Lubeck, Blennerhassett, Washington Bottom, and Mineral Wells Fire Departments completed joint training on Carbon Monoxide and Natural Gas Emergencies presented by Hope Gas. These trainings are crucial to ensure preparedness in the event of these types of emergencies.

This....is TEAMWORK!

Station 20 was dispatched to a fully involved residential structure fire at 6:09 this morning. Blennerhassett Volunteer Fire Department and Washington Bottom VFD were dispatched simultaneously as automatic mutual aid.

The homeowner was alerted by a smoke detector and was able to safely evacuate. The Red Cross was notified to assist.

Units from Pond Creek Vfd and Mineral Wells VFD, WV responded to stand by our area and assisted in getting our equipment back in service. All units cleared without incident.

🚨POWER OUTAGE TOMORROW🚨

On Monday February 23, 2026, there will be a planned power outage to your electric In order to upgrade facilities. The outage will affect customers in the vicinity of Harris Hwy, Champion School Rd, And Ranis Rd. The service interruption will be from approximately 08:00 am to 12:00 pm. In the event of inclement weather, (determined by Mon Power), the planned outage will be rescheduled for Tuesday February 24, 2026.
