The Fire Department would like to extend its sincere appreciation to Ron Towing for his prompt response and assistance in safely recovering a fire apparatus that had become stuck in a ditch. We also wish to thank County Rescue Squad for their presence on scene and continued support of the Fire Department during hazardous, icy road conditions as crews were responding and returning to the station.

The cooperation and professionalism displayed by all agencies involved ensured the safety of personnel and equipment under challenging conditions.

The Decatur County Fire Department is in the process of collecting surveys for a brush truck grant. A Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) requires 300 surveys to qualify for the grant. We will be collecting surveys throughout the month of January. The information collected is for the grant only.
