City of Pascagoula Welcome to the official page for the City of Pascagoula, MS! Pascagoula, one of Mississippi’s largest cities, is the County Seat of Jackson County.

It is home to approximately 24,000 residents with a daytime population of perhaps twice that many. Though Pascagoula boasts grand Spanish moss laden live oaks, splendid ante-bellum structures and charms of the old South, she also has the breeziness, pleasant ambiance and architecture of a New England fishing village. While she enjoys a comfortable coexistence with some mammoth industries, she stu

bbornly maintains the quiet dignity, quality of life and tenacious preservation of natural beauty more characteristic of a rural community.

Today, and every day, we remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Let us think of their families and friends as they feel their loss most, and let us always remember that freedom isn't free. Thank you to the brave men and women who continue to protect this country.

In observance of Memorial Day, city offices are closed today, May 25. Offices will reopen tomorrow, May 26, with normal hours.

Progress in Pascagoula: Train Depot Courtyard, Railroad Avenue Parking Lot and Green Space Improvements Project Moving Forward!

Another exciting improvement is coming to Downtown Pascagoula as we continue building on the momentum created by the return of Amtrak service and the revitalization of our historic train depot. Last night, the Pascagoula City Council awarded the construction contract for the Train Depot Courtyard Project to JE Talley Construction, Inc.

This project will create a new Train Depot Courtyard along Railroad Avenue designed to serve as a welcoming outdoor space adjacent to the historic L&N Depot and the new depot development. Improvements will include curb and gutter, asphalt, sidewalks, stamped concrete, pipe bollards, stormwater inlets, stormwater pipes and other features that will enhance both the appearance and functionality of the area.

Additionally, the project will also feature the construction of a new parking lot and greenspace at the corner of Frederic Street and Railroad Avenue. This portion of the project will add 40 new parking spaces and create a new outdoor gathering space for future Pascagoula events.

Construction is expected to begin soon and will take approximately 120 days to reach substantial completion. These improvements complement the ongoing transformation of the depot, where developer Joe Cloyd is working to bring and a new restaurant and Chandeleur Island Brewery to this historic landmark. Together, these investments are helping create an exciting gateway into Downtown Pascagoula and enhancing the experience for residents, visitors and passengers arriving by train.
