City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare

City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Welcome to City of Pauls Valley Animal Welfare! Together, we can make a difference!

We're dedicated to rescuing and rehoming animals, promoting responsible pet ownership, and enforcing local laws for the safety of pets and residents. From picking up stray animals, reuniting lost pets with owners, to finding new homes for unwanted pets, our employees are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of our animals. While the Shelter will never replace a good home with a caring family, we

do our best to provide a safe place where animals will find food, water and a friendly face with a caring hand. Animal Control Officers enforce the Animal Code found in the Revised Ordinances of the City of Pauls Valley. These ordinances include requirements for rabies vaccinations, city licensing and sterilization requirements.

📣 Calling our fellow animal control agencies, shelters & rescues!

PAWS is excited to help bring Shelter Medicine Foundations: Veterinary Partnership Without an On-Staff Veterinarian to Pauls Valley this November!

This two-day training was created specifically for the people working in animal welfare who care for animals before, after, and between veterinary visits. The course will feature multiple participating agencies and veterinarians, with veterinarian-led and veterinarian-approved medical curriculum.

One of the pieces we’re most excited about is helping organizations strengthen their Veterinarian of Record (VOR) relationship. Participants will look at protocols, staff roles, documentation, communication, escalation procedures, and what it takes to build a medical program that a veterinarian can feel confident and comfortable partnering with.

There will also be plenty of practical learning—from intake assessment and restraint to vaccination, infectious disease, point of care testing, emergency response, CPR, veterinary communication, and more. The goal isn’t to turn shelter workers into veterinarians; it’s to make them better partners to veterinarians and better prepared for the animals in their care.

🐾 November 19–20, 2026
📍 Pauls Valley, Oklahoma
⏰ 8:30 AM–5:00 PM each day
💲 $100 per participant

Please note: This is a professional training opportunity and is NOT open to the general public. Registration is intended for animal control officers, municipal and nonprofit shelter staff, rescue personnel, and other animal welfare professionals.

If you work with another shelter, rescue, or animal control organization, we would love to have your team join us! Tag an organization that should be in the room, share this with your animal welfare colleagues, and come learn alongside us.
