☀️ Great time at the Slidell Bar Association candidate forum today! As a Past President of the Slidell Bar Association, Ben has enjoyed serving the Northshore community for many years. He has owned and operated his own law firm in Slidell for decades. For almost 10 years, his firm maintained an office in Bogalusa.

Of nearly 40 years practicing law, Ben has managed his law firm on the Northshore for 26 years. Running a law firm for a QUARTER CENTURY means:

⚖️ Building numerous cases (plaintiff and defense) from start to finish, from providing comfort, stability, and counsel to the individual walking through his doors in need of help, to assembling the case file, to investigating the documentary evidence, to interviewing the witnesses, to studying the medical, financial, and business records, to taking the depositions, to trying the pretrial motions before the judge, and ultimately to resolving the case according to the client’s goals, whether trial by jury, trial to the bench, or resolution via amicable settlement.

⚖️ Overseeing an active and demanding case load. Ensuring that litigation milestones are reached, deadlines are satisfied, and prompt and efficient resolutions are achieved for the multiple cases he simultaneously handled.

⚖️ Managing the business—everything from stewarding the tangible assets entrusted to him such as client funds, to preserving the intangibles like relationships with his employees, to the little things like staying late, taking out the trash, and keeping the business a place where people can be comfortably served.

Ben’s experience—in the courtroom, in the office, and in the real world—has been where the rubber hits the road. 🛻 That’s the kind of experience St. Tammany and Washington residents deserve. 🤝

💡DID YOU KNOW? Out of the 10 general jurisdiction judge seats in our 22nd Judicial District Court, 5 of those 10 seats will be on the ballot this November 3rd. 1/2 of our judges will be new. Qualifications will be vital. Thankfully, with almost 40 years of lawyering under his belt in just about every kind of case litigated in those general jurisdiction seats, Ben will be ready to go on Day 1. Further still, Ben encourages voters to be involved and get to know the candidates in this VERY important election for the Northshore. ⚖️

Ben enjoyed presenting to the St. Tammany RPEC on Saturday. Ben's message to them is the same as to all voters: character is critical. What's on the inside of a person will make or break the acts of judging. The integrity to hear all sides without pre-judging a case. The temperament to properly address a recalcitrant party in the courtroom. The impartiality to set aside personal feelings and solely apply the law to the facts. Ben humbly and firmly will tell you that life's experiences have cultivated in him these and other important dimensions of character that are essential in a judicial candidate. Ultimately, it is up to all of us, as voters, to discern. Discernment of candidates for public service is a sacred duty entrusted to us by our nation's founders. With God's grace, we can do it well. 🇺🇸 ⚖️
