purpose of the meeting was to identify gaps in services for sexual assault victims and to provide a multi-disciplinary approach in the investigation of sexual assault crimes. An executive board was established in August 1997 and declared to hold meetings the first Wednesday of every month. MICSA has accomplished an alliance and a working cooperation with professionals that serve victims of sexual

assault crimes. MICSA has established a reputable history of providing educational training to enhance the knowledge of service providers when working with survivors of sexual assaults. MICSA provides special presentations using various guest speakers during monthly meetings. MICSA observes Sexual Awareness Month by hosting Safety/Health Fairs and Annual Conferences.
