This is the official page of the City of Pearland. Pearland (pronounced "pear-land," like the fruit), is a city located along the Gulf Coast region in the US state of Texas within the Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown metropolitan area and is in the counties of Brazoria, Fort Bend, and Harris.
In 2007, Forbes Magazine ranked Pearland as the 34th fastest growing suburb in the nation. It is therefore the fastest growing suburb in the Greater Houston area, and the 10th fastest growing in the state of Texas.

Williams has an underage child (approximately 1years old) in the vehicle. Williams last known location is believed to be in the Shadow Creek area of Pearland, TX. Pearland Police Department
As reminder, the City of Pearland Police Department has a program called a Safe Exchange Zone. This initiative attempts to address safety and awareness concerns regarding internet-based purchases from websites such as Craigslist and EBay, as well as the various local Facebook groups, or any other item advertised for sale from an individual, regardless of the source of the advertised sale. While many websites, including those previously mentioned, are very credible and are heavily utilized, their popularity make them an easy target for criminal activity from online predators. The City of Pearland is now offering a secure location available for Pearland residents to help ensure and enhance their safety and to minimize the opportunity for an encounter to go wrong.

Pearland Police Department
On December 12, 2020 at approximately 6:59pm Pearland Police responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred with possible shots fired in the parking lot of 1310 Broadway St. Officers arrived and found two males in the parking lot with gunshot wounds. Officers began lifesaving measures. One male is deceased at this time. Another male was transported to Clear Lake Regional Hospital by Pearland FD with serious injuries. Witnesses reported a possible suspect at a nearby business. Officers located and detained a possible suspect. Motives for the shooting are unknown at this time. No employees of the business were injured. Currently we are not searching for anymore suspects. The investigation is ongoing.

Last month Community Development and Pearland Parks and Recreation teamed up and gave away 150 trees in celebration of Texas Arbor Day. The event was held at the Delores Fenwick Nature Center, and the estimated long-term ecosystem services provided to the community by this tree giveaway are:

🏭 emissions of 965 tons of carbon dioxide and 5.2 tons of air pollution reduced
🔌 329,061 kWh of electricity for cooling and heating saved
🌧️ 9.9 million gallons of rainfall and avoid 1.6 million gallons of runoff intercepted
🌎 7,206 pounds of ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide from the air filtered

Helping local businesses bridge some financial gaps amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Pearland has begun awarding local businesses with grants, as part of the federal government’s Coronavirus Aid Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Grants ranging from $6,000 to $15,000 are being disbursed to 61 Pearland for-profit, small businesses with storefronts or commercial office/operating space, that have also faced economic losses due to COVID-19. A total of $857,000 was made available to fund the program, largely based on the amount of discretionary spending the State allowed the City to incur with its CARES Act funds, and be able to provide rental and utility assistance relief as well.

On Thursday, December 3rd, the City of Pearland broke ground and two upcoming facilities at the Public Safety Building site, located on on Cullen Boulevard and Freedom Drive.
The new Fire Station No. 4, which will be located adjacent to the current Fire Station No. 4, will feature new and modern amenities to support our full-time firefighter crews, including living and sleeping quarters, office space, and decontamination areas.
The Shari D. Coleman Animal Shelter & Adoption Center will replace the current shelter located on Old Alvin. This shelter, which was approved by voters during the 2019 Bond Referendum, will increase capacity, and feature amenities, such as dog runs and meet-and-greet rooms.

Following the recommendation of heath consultant AM Trace, the City of Pearland is extending its current health and safety policy order to continue until 11:59 p.m. on December 19 following an increase in the 10-day average of active cases over the past two weeks. The health and safety order maintains that all commercial businesses in the City of Pearland that offer goods or services to the public must implement a policy requiring all employees and visitors over the age of 10 to wear a face covering.
