The Marquette Heights Fire Department will hold our annual Easter egg hunt on April 20th, Easter Sunday, at 1 PM sharp at the fire department. Bring your baskets, bags, etc….to collect the eggs. After opening your eggs to look for prize slips, we ask that you return the eggs to the totes provided, to be used in following years. (Please return only our eggs to the totes. No outside eggs. This helps with filling future eggs).

Special appearance by the EASTER BUNNY!

Age groups are:
0 - 2 (accompanied by 1 adult)
All other age groups will hunt by themselves.
3 - 5
6 - 8
9 - 11

🚨 Boil Order in Effect – Please Read 🚨

Due to a water main break near the water tower in Independence Park, THE ENTIRE TOWN is under a boil order effective IMMEDIATLY.

PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR NEIGHBORS

💧 What this means:
All tap water should be boiled for at least 1 minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, or washing dishes.

⏱️ Duration:
This boil order will remain in place for a minimum of 48 hours while crews work to repair the issue and testing can be completed.

📢 Special Storm Debris Limb Pick-Up Next Week (3/17-3/21) 🌳🚛

Attention Marquette Heights residents: Due to the recent storm, the City will be conducting a special limb pick-up all of next week to assist with clean-up efforts.

✅ Important Guidelines for Pick-Up:
📍 Stack neatly between the sidewalk and the curb, with all limbs facing the same direction.
🚫 DO NOT BLOCK THE SIDEWALK.
🌲 Limbs must be 3 inches or smaller in diameter – larger limbs will not be accepted.
❌ Leaves, grass clippings, stumps, lumber, or commercially trimmed trees WILL NOT be picked up. Please contact your garbage provider for disposal of these items.
🚮 Do not put limbs in bags or trash cans.
🚗 Do not park in the roadway in front of your pile to ensure access for pick-up crews.

💧 WATER BILL QUESTIONS? 💧

If you received your water bill yesterday or today and noticed it’s higher than usual, here’s why:

Last month, during the scheduled meter reading, we experienced a severe cold spell in Central Illinois, with temperatures staying below zero for most of the week. For safety reasons, we had to delay meter readings by a week.

Since our meter reader walks through 75% of town to collect readings, we prioritized safety and resumed readings the following week. This means your current bill reflects an extra week of usage. The good news? Your next bill (if your usage remains normal) will be a week less!

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding. Stay warm and thank you! 💙🚰

Attention residents! The brush drop-off location behind Frisbee is temporarily closed as our Public Works crew works hard to reduce the existing piles.

For years, this site has been a convenient spot for tree trimmings and yard waste, but with the volume of material, it's going to take some time to manage. Until further notice, residents will not be able to drop off yard waste.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as our crew balances this cleanup with their daily duties. Thank you for understanding! 🙏 🌿
