Hidalgo County- A developer is planning a $223 million expansion of a wind farm in western Hidalgo County, which could power 59,000 homes and bring hundreds of construction jobs to the area.

Terra-Gen's Monte Cristo Windpower Phase II would add up to 62 new turbines between La Joya and McCook, with construction expected to commence by late 2027 and be completed by the end of 2028.

SpaceX is poised to launch its initial public offering (IPO) this Friday, with a target price of $135 per share. For those interested in participating, the Robinhood App is currently accepting pre-orders. We picked up a few shares. Let’s see how it goes 🥸

According to some estimates, the IPO will create 4,000 new millionaires among SpaceX employees, from engineers to cafeteria workers, who hold employee stock options as part of their compensation.

In the small town of Brownsville, TX, near SpaceX headquarters, real estate agents are preparing themselves for the gold rush. The median listing price in Brownsville is a paltry $290,000, which is down 7.9% year over year and far below the national median of $425,000.

This is amazing! 10,000 jobs at the Port of Brownsville with base pay starting at $25 and the company helps with training. 💪

“Austin-based Saronic Technologies would build autonomous vessels for the U.S. Navy. The company has to hire at least 35% of its workforce locally — and partner with area schools to train them.”

Cameron County leaders are expected to approve an incentive deal that could bring a $3.2 billion shipyard to the Port of Brownsville — and with it, up to 10,000 jobs paying at least $25 an hour.

Austin-based Saronic Technologies would build autonomous vessels for the U.S. Navy. The company has to hire at least 35% of its workforce locally — and partner with area schools to train them.

This is the kind of economic opportunity that doesn't come around often.

This morning, I was onsite as equipment was arriving to begin the remodel of the Sam’s Club 8250 located in McAllen, Texas at 1400 E. Jackson Rd. WillScot is supplying the contractors office and the high security storage units for this project. 🙂👍

🚨 TEXAS HOUSE DISTRICT 41 — WHERE WERE THE VOTERS? 🚨

The numbers from the recent Democrat and Republican Primary Runoff elections in Texas House District 41 are honestly shocking.

🔹 Republican Primary Runoff
• Gary Groves — 2,387 votes
• Sergio Sanchez — 1,421 votes
➡️ Total votes cast: 3,808

🔹 Democrat Primary Runoff
• Julio Salinas — 3,349 votes
• Victor Seby Haddad — 2,680 votes
➡️ Total votes cast: 6,029

📊 Combined turnout between BOTH parties:
ONLY 9,837 votes.

Now let that sink in.

Using 2020 Census figures, the combined population of McAllen, Mission, Pharr, Palmhurst, San Juan, Lopezville, and Sharyland is approximately 371,091 people.
(Includes some parts of Edinburg but most of Edinburg is in District 40)

Even more importantly, Texas House District 41 has an estimated adult voting-age population well over 130,000 people. Yet fewer than 10,000 ballots were cast in these runoff elections.

That means only a tiny fraction of eligible citizens helped decide who will represent this district.

No matter your political party — Democrat, Republican, Independent, or anything else — voting matters.

You cannot sit out elections and then complain about:
• taxes
• roads
• schools
• public safety
• healthcare
• property values
• or the direction of your community.

Voting is one of the most important civic duties we have as Americans. People fought, marched, and even died for that right.

If you want change, you have to participate.

If you want your voice heard, you have to vote.

And if we want stronger leadership and better communities here in the Rio Grande Valley, we need FAR more people engaged in the process.

🗳️ Your vote matters.
🗳️ Every election matters.
🗳️ Get informed. Get registered. Show up.

Because when voter turnout stays this low, a very small number of people end up making decisions for everyone else.
