UTILITY & FACILITIES MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT
The Town of Pennington Gap is accepting applications for a Utility & Facilities Maintenance Assistant within the Public Works/Utilities Department.
This position performs and assists with general maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance of Town facilities, water and wastewater systems, pumps, motors, electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, vehicles, equipment, buildings, streets, drainage, parks, and other municipal property.
Applicants should have basic hands-on maintenance or mechanical skills, the ability to safely use hand and power tools, a strong work ethic, dependability, and a willingness to learn. Experience in general maintenance, mechanical work, construction, equipment repair, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, automotive repair, or a related field is preferred but not required.
The employee will work under the direction of the Town’s Utility & Facilities Maintenance Technician and will receive hands-on training. As skills and experience are developed, the employee will be expected to independently complete assigned routine maintenance and repair tasks. Some work outside normal business hours may be required.
Pay Range: $12.77–$15.00 per hour based on qualifications and experience.
