Today is one of the greatest days to celebrate our dogs and show them just how much they mean to us.

Our dogs are more than pets—they're family. They're the ones who greet us at the door after a long day, comfort us when we're feeling down, make us laugh with their silly antics, and love us unconditionally every single day.

Now, let's be honest... for most dog moms and dog dads, every day feels like National Dog Day. But today is extra special because it's all about them.

🐶 Let them sleep in bed for an extra hour.
🐶 Take them on an extra walk.
🐶 Go for a car ride with no destination.
🐶 Take them to Home Depot or Lowe's for an adventure.
🐶 Visit the dog park.
🐶 Go swimming.
🐶 Take them on a hike.
🐶 Buy them a new toy.
🐶 Grab them a pup cup, doggy cupcake, or special treat.
🐶 Spend extra time playing their favorite game.

When I first started becoming a veterinary technician, I worked in animal shelters, and I saw firsthand just how resilient animals can be and how much they simply want to find their forever home. No matter what they had been through, many were still willing to trust, love, and connect with people.

It all starts with the incredible people working in shelters and rescues who dedicate their time, compassion, and energy to helping these animals feel safe, loved, and cared for while they wait for a family of their own. They help animals learn to trust again and remind them that they matter.

International Homeless Animals Day is not only about raising awareness—it's about encouraging compassion.

❤️ Consider adopting from a local shelter or rescue.
❤️ Support animal rescues through donations or volunteering.
❤️ Foster a pet in need.
❤️ Help reunite lost pets with their families.
❤️ Educate others about responsible pet ownership.

Our dogs spend every day loving us unconditionally, greeting us with wagging tails, making us smile when we're having a bad day, and being our most loyal companions. Today is the perfect opportunity to give a little of that love back.

❤️ Take them swimming.
❤️ Let them spend a little extra time outside.
❤️ Take them to the dog park.
❤️ Go on a nice hike or adventure.
❤️ Buy them a new toy.
❤️ Give them extra belly rubs and cuddles.
❤️ Let them enjoy their favorite treats.
❤️ Pick up a doggy cupcake or a special dog-friendly cake.
❤️ Have a fun play session with their favorite ball or toy.

Being an dog owner myself one of my favorite things is seeing My dogs truly enjoy life. The happiest dogs aren't always the ones with the most toys—they're the ones who feel loved, safe, and included as part of the family.

Whether a dog is paralyzed, a tripod, recovering from surgery, living with a chronic illness, facing mobility challenges, or simply slowing down with age, they remind us every day what resilience, strength, and unconditional love truly look like.

As a veterinary technician, I have had the privilege of caring for many dogs with special needs. They may face challenges that other dogs do not, but one thing remains the same—their ability to love us wholeheartedly and trust us during their most vulnerable moments.

Assist Dog Day is a reminder that all dogs deserve compassion, patience, and support. They rely on us to be their advocates, their caregivers, and their voice when they need help the most.

🐾 August is National Immunization Awareness Month! 🐾

As a veterinary technician for over 15 years, this topic is especially close to my heart.

Not only do I want your pets to be safe, healthy, and protected, but I also want the same for my own pets. Making sure they stay up to date on their vaccinations is one of the most important things I can do to help keep them healthy and protected from preventable diseases.

Vaccinations play a vital role in protecting our furry family members and helping them live longer, healthier lives.

💉 Vaccines can help protect against:
🐶 Rabies
🐶 Distemper
🐶 Parvovirus
🐶 Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
🐱 Feline Distemper
🐱 Feline Leukemia

Every pet is different, so it's important to work with your veterinarian to determine which vaccines are best based on your pet's age, health, and lifestyle.

🐾 Happy National Mutt Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate all the amazing mixed-breed dogs who fill our lives with unconditional love, loyalty, and endless joy. Whether they're a perfect blend of several breeds or a one-of-a-kind mystery mix, mutts are truly special and deserve to be celebrated!

As a veterinary technician and pet care professional, I've had the privilege of caring for many wonderful mixed-breed dogs over the years. Each one has their own unique personality, quirks, and charm that make them unforgettable.

Having a mixed breed of my own, this day is especially meaningful to me. My dog, Fendi, is a Golden Retriever–Rottweiler mix, and she reminds me every day just how special mixed-breed dogs truly are. Her love, loyalty, and personality make her one of a kind, so today is definitely for Fendi! ❤️🐾

National Mutt Day is also a great reminder to consider adoption and support local shelters and rescues. Some of the most incredible companions come with a story and are simply waiting for a loving home.
