We were privileged to give several St. Patrick’s students a ride to the last day of school today. They each got to pick a ride in a Police Cruiser, Fire Truck or Snow Plow Truck. We always love participating with these events! Enjoy your summer kiddos!

We had a great time hosting the amazing teachers and staff from Perry Elementary Pre-K at the Perry Police Department!

Thank you for taking the time to come out, tour our department, and spend the day with us. We truly enjoyed the opportunity to connect, share what we do, and give you a behind-the-scenes look at our operations.

We hope you enjoyed the drone demonstration as much as we enjoyed putting it on! It’s always a great opportunity to showcase some of the tools and technology we use to better serve our community.

We appreciate everything you do each and every day for the kids in our community—your dedication does not go unnoticed. We’re grateful for the partnership and look forward to continuing to work together to keep Perry a great place to live, learn, and grow.

The Perry Police Department is partnering with the DEA for National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

💊 What’s accepted: Tablets, capsules, patches, and other solid prescription medications
🚫 Not accepted: Syringes, sharps, illicit drugs
🧴 Liquids: Must remain sealed in original containers

The Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services, the Iowa Attorney General’s Office and AARP, are proudly hosting a session to provide local seniors and community members with the tools they need to identify and report financial fraud right here in Perry! We’ve seen an increase in sophisticated scams affecting members of our community—especially our older residents.

In addition to the representatives mentioned above, we will have a local officer present to connect directly with members of our community—answering questions, sharing information on current local trends, and providing guidance on resources available to help keep our residents safe and informed.

The Perry Police Department is advising all citizens to be aware of an ongoing scam targeting our community.

We are receiving reports of individuals being contacted by phone/textor claiming to be from the Department of Transportation or other government agencies. These scammers may:

• Demand immediate payment
• Threaten arrest or legal action
• Ask for personal or financial information
• Request payment through gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency

⚠️ PLEASE REMEMBER:
• The Perry Police Department will NEVER call you demanding payment.
• Government agencies will NOT ask for payment in gift cards or over the phone.
• Do NOT share personal or banking information with unknown individuals.

If you have received a suspicious call or message, please contact us so we can document the incident and help protect others in our community.

The Perry Police Department is proud to share a snapshot of the work completed by our officers and staff over the past year. These numbers represent countless hours of service, proactive policing, and a continued commitment to keeping our community safe.

Throughout 2025, our team responded to thousands of calls for service, conducted traffic enforcement and investigations, made arrests, and worked daily to address concerns brought forward by our residents and visitors.

🚨 SNOW ORDINANCE REMINDER 🚨

With winter weather approaching, we’re asking everyone to help us keep our streets safe and clear.

Plowing and Vehicles:
• Please DO NOT PARK ON THE STREET. We can perform snow removal operations more safely and much faster with no cars on the roads. Snow is predicted during the late afternoon and overnight on Saturday, and snow removal operations will most likely begin early Sunday morning.

• If you are out and see equipment performing snow removal operations, please stay back and give the operator as much room as possible. Visibility is limited while operating this equipment.

• The Perry Police Department will be enforcing the snow ordinance. To avoid a knock on your door, a ticket, or possible tow of your vehicle please do not park on the streets.
