Las Mamukis

Las Mamukis Clay earrings handmade by a mom and daughter duo Hello y'all! Our name, Las Mamukis, comes from the fact that "Mamukis" is our nickname for each other 💕

We are Maribel and Leslie, a mom and daughter duo from the RGV that began making polymer clay earrings after looking for a hobby that we could do together. We quickly fell in love with the creativity and endless possibilities involved with making polymer clay earrings and finally decided to open up this little shop.

Last week we got an interesting custom order request to make some truffula trees and other embellishments for a graduation cap in a specific color palette. While I initially thought that the truffula trees wouldn’t be too difficult to make, they actually took quite a bit of trial and error to get the fluffy, swirly look while having a flat back. Thankfully, the customer ended up loving how they turned out. It was also a good reminder how important it is for us to continue experimenting and playing around with different techniques so that we can continue to learn, have fun, and not feel stagnant in what we’re creating.

Made this special pair of chicken earrings for who kindly gave us their canopy cover after ours ripped last week 🙏🏽 it was honestly so nice to see the vendors of coming together last week during the aftermath. Whether it was checking in with each other to make sure everyone was ok, to helping with clean up, the sense of community was definitely felt ❤️

Still so surprised at the love that this flor de cempasúchil badge reel has gotten. I didn’t make it and list it on Etsy until AFTER Día de los Mu***os had passed last year, so I didn’t expect anyone to order it until fall started rolling in this year. Yet, it has quickly become one of our bestselling badge reels on Etsy. Funnily enough, this badge reel has never even made it to a single market. We’ve only sold them online and they’ve gone out to 9 different states so far, with a bulk of the orders coming from CA. Can’t wait to continue sending it out to more states 🤞🏽

Do y’all wear holiday-themed badge reels to work?

Here’s our market schedule for April!

We’re excited that we’ll be returning to vend at the Poteet Strawberry Festival 🍓 next week❣️ Unfortunately our market for this Sunday was rescheduled for when we’ll be in Poteet. While it doesn’t feel great losing our vendor fee, we’re trying to look at the bright side that now we have an extra day to work on new cositas for the festival and can enjoy the Easter festivities.

Hope y’all have a great Easter weekend! 🐣

After the 12 hr Texas Onion Festival, we got home after midnight and only had enough energy to shower and crawl into bed 😴

Even though it’s been a few days since then, we still wanted to take the time to thank everyone who stopped by our booth that day. Thank you to those of you that said you kept searching until you found us, to those that remained patient when the internet was lagging and taking your payments took longer than expected, to those that complimented our work and said it was hard to choose just a few cositas to take home, etc. We truly appreciate it all! 🙏🏽 Because of y’all we were able to have a successful vending experience at the onion festival for the 6th year in a row 🤯

But we’re still busy working hard behind the scenes because we have 2 markets this weekend and the 3-day Poteet Strawberry Festival comping up next week! 🍓 so keep an eye out for the new cositas we have in the works!

And happy hump day y’all!

Feliz Día de los Reyes! 👑
I busted out some festive earrings for today’s rosca con chocolatito. I almost chipped a tooth as the baby was very well hidden in my piece. I didn’t even see it until the last two bites 😅 A quien más le tocó el bebé? 🙋🏽‍♀️
