Independent voters are organizing across Pennsylvania.

Last weekend, Let Us Vote leader Sophie Gelling spoke at the Pennsylvania Forward Party State Convention about the growing movement to open Pennsylvania's closed primary elections.

With more than 1.3 million independent voters currently excluded from primary elections, the campaign for reform is gaining momentum through both bipartisan legislation in Harrisburg and a landmark legal challenge to the state's closed primary system.

Sophie also invited convention attendees to join our upcoming Independents' Spokesperson Training this October, helping equip more advocates to organize in their own communities.

When local leaders partner with national organizations, we build the momentum needed to create lasting change.

Every Pennsylvanian deserves an equal voice.

We're grateful to Make Voters The Donors for attending our convention. The Forward Party is in the good company of many such organizations working to reform our system of elections.

The goal is a system that produces better outcomes for everyone—regardless of party or policy. Opinions on policy will differ, but we should all want a system in which policy debate results in constructive action. That can't happen unless politicians are more accountable to their voters than to their donors.
