What does antenatal colostrum harvesting actually look like in practice?

In this episode, Colette and Louisa talk with Natalie Andinolfi, IBCLC, about her personal experience both as a lactation consultant and as a parent.

They discuss:
• what colostrum harvesting can involve before birth
• how much milk can realistically be expressed
• what Natalie’s own experience looked like

From a few drops to measurable amounts, this conversation offers a real example of how it can vary.

Your pumping journey might be winding down, but your Spectra pump still has a lot of life left in it 🤍

Through our Pump It Up! Program, we collect gently used Spectra pumps, pair them with brand-new kits, and pass them along to families who need a little help getting started. Because it's a closed-system pump, it's completely safe to share, and in 2025 alone that meant 222 pumps found their way home with new parents.

If your pump is no longer in use, you have the option to donate it and give another family the same support that carried you through. Reach out to us and we'll walk you through where and how to drop it off.

At the Breastfeeding Resource Center, we believe mental health support is just as important as physical support during pregnancy and postpartum.

We’ve gathered mental health resources for parents and families looking for additional support, guidance, and care.

You are never alone, and asking for help is a sign of strength. 🤍

Some weeks are harder than others 💛

If you could use a hand, a familiar face, or a few minutes where someone just gets it, we're here for all of it. Our schedule for the week is right here. No pressure, just show up when you can.

No manual. No warning label. No roadmap. 🤍Just you, figuring it out one day at a time and still making it work.

Because of the generosity, compassion, and belief in our mission, this year’s Benefit Ball raised more than $80,000 to support families who rely on the Breastfeeding Resource Center. We are deeply grateful to every attendee, sponsor, donor, volunteer, and supporter who made this event such a meaningful success.

Beyond the fundraising total, what made the evening truly special was the feeling in the room: a community coming together around the shared belief that every family deserves support, dignity, and access to care.

To our sponsors: thank you for investing in families and standing beside us in this mission. Your partnership allows us to continue serving thousands of parents each year.

To our guests and supporters: thank you for showing up with open hearts and incredible generosity. Every ticket purchased, auction bid placed, donation made, and story shared helped make a lasting difference.

We left the evening feeling hopeful, inspired, and reminded that when a community comes together, extraordinary things happen. From all of us at the BRC, thank you for helping us continue this important work.

A special thank you to the Hellendall Family Foundation for being our Platinum Sponsor.

Have you heard of the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act (PWFA)? 👶⚖️

In our newest episode of The Feeding Frenzy podcast, we’re talking about what the PWFA means for pregnant and postpartum parents, workplace protections, accommodations, and why knowing your rights matters.

This is such an important conversation for growing families navigating work, pregnancy, pumping, and parenthood.

The BRC is excited to announce that the The Newrez Newrez Community Investment Initiative, called Newrez NOW (Neighborhood Outreach Works) granted the BRC $9,000 towards the Holly Program.
💚The Holly Program allows free visits to families with Medicaid as Medicaid does not cover lactation services.

We send a big thanks to Newrez NOW for understanding the importance of a healthy start for new babies and ALL families!🤍💚🤍💚🤍🩷

Every week, parents come to the BRC to connect, ask questions, share experiences, and receive support from professionals and each other.
Your feedback and stories mean more to us than words can say.
