June 17, 2026

On Saturday, June 13, 2026, at approximately 7:26 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at CVS Pharmacy, located at 2622 Jenkintown Road in the Glenside section of Abington Township.

A male suspect approached a store employee, displayed a handgun, and forced the employee to provide access to the store’s office area. The suspect then removed currency from the safe and fled the business.

Witnesses described the suspect as a middle-aged, light-skinned Black male wearing a dark-colored hat with a white Nike logo, a blue hooded sweatshirt, olive green pants, and white sneakers. The suspect was also wearing a surgical mask and blue latex gloves. He was last seen leaving the area in a dark colored, unknown make/model sedan.

Gun point Robbery of CVS Pharmacy, 2622 Jenkintown Road.

At approximately 7:30am today, a male suspect entered the store and presented a firearm. He gave commands to the employee who cooperated. After completing the robbery the male fled the store and left the area. There is no threat to the community.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026!

The Greater Glenside Independence Day Parade and Fireworks will be held on Saturday, July 4th, 2026. As in years past, there will be parking restrictions in the parade staging area and along the route. There will also be parking restrictions in the area around the high school where the fireworks are viewed.

These areas will be posted with “NO PARKING” as a reminder to all residents on July 3rd. If you will be away during this event, please do not park on the street. Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
