We would like to Thank Pacific Power Foundation for supporting the Philomath Comminity Glraners this past year! We were granted a $2,000 grant to help provide food to our families in 2020. This grant was used to purchase quality proteins for our members as well as much needed pantry goods and microwave safe meals for our home bound members.

Blueberry Glean 7/21

Finally! We are having a blueberry glean at Anderson's Blues in Corvallis on Wednesday (7/21) at 9:00 AM. Parking will be challenging this year as our usual parking area has been sold, we will need to park and walk to the plot. Bring your carts to transport back to vehicles. The berries are beautiful, the donor is excited to have us out again this year.

As a reminder, as a gleaning group field gleaning should be the number one activity during harvest season. All groups are expected to glean.

NO CHILDREN allowed on this glean.

Please signup so we know to expect you at the location and can call you if needed.

Please do not be late as we will likely need to walk as a group to the glean.

Do you or someone you know experience food insecurity? If they or you live in or AROUND Philomath we’d love to help you get started as a gleaner or a gleaner adoptee. As we move into spring and summer the fresh produce donated by our community partners becomes amazingly bountiful. With donations and purchases from grants and fundraisers we are able to fill in the rest of a well balanced diet for our members! Not only do we as a whole group help our members but local organizations we make donations to. If you or someone you know would benefit from not only food but a sense of community we would love to ave you as a member. The pictures below show what we are delivering to our home bound adoptees this afternoon. With the addition of a ham and other meat options! (We also have hygiene and household products)

If you know a senior who is interested in getting the COVID-19 vaccine please reach out and share the numbers in this link with them. Some of our most vulnerable community members also have limited technology access, in this rollout of vaccines depending so heavily on workplace and e-mail notifications there is a a definite equity problem.

We’ve had a lot of people reaching out about a second round of our 𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐈𝐃 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 program, so here are the latest updates:

Our COVID rent relief program *will be* re-opening sometime in February, and we will have the full application available on our website. We’ll update our website and social media when the rent relief program is opened next month - so keep an eye out!

𝐈𝐧 𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭:
✔Be a renter in Linn, Benton or Lincoln County
✔Be at least one month behind rent
✔Have loss of employment/income or fallen behind rent due to COVID-19 (anyone in household)

If you already received COVID rental assistance last year, you may still be eligible to apply again, if you meet the eligibility criteria for the new program.

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫: The current eviction moratorium protects renters from eviction *due to nonpayment* through June 30, 2021, as long as you have notified your landlord with the Declaration of Financial Hardship form. Otherwise you have until March 31, 2021 to pay any back-due rent to your landlord.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨/𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧:
✔If you haven’t yet, complete and submit the Declaration of Financial Hardship for Eviction Protection form to your landlord as soon as possible (courts.oregon.gov/forms/Documents/FED-NoticeProtectionDeclHardship.pdf)
✔Ask your landlord if they plan to apply for the Landlord Compensation Fund to pay your back-due rent.

The Landlord Compensation program is set to open in late January. It is a separate from CSC’s COVID Rent Relief program for tenants, and landlords must apply directly to the state of Oregon.

If you are NOT COVID-impacted and need rental assistance, or you are homeless, contact the CSC Housing staff in your county below...

Lincoln County: [email protected]
Linn County: [email protected]

🎁Do you know someone who couldn’t afford a Christmas tree this year? Single parents? One-income families? Seniors? Unemployed? Any and all of the above!!! We did this last year as well and I can’t tell you how many families not only didn’t have Christmas trees, but also just normal necessities.

🎄We would like to offer the rest of our trees free of charge to someone who will enjoy them this Christmas. Please send us a private message to arrange.

🛻Have a truck? If we have have families who can enjoy the trees, we will need a few volunteers who can deliver and carry them inside for folks. Tree stands, lights and extra decorations also appreciated!!🙏🏻♥️❣️

Basic Information and Statistics

Every week the Philomath Community Gleaners picks up fresh produce, baked goods, dry goods, and refrigerated items from 26-32 different farms and stores. We are able to distribute 15,000 - 20,000 pounds of food per month to 600 families in addition to the Gleaners. To make this all possible we have a team of over 200 volunteers who serve between 1275 - 1400 hours monthly. We are currently serving Philomath and western Benton County.

How can you help? We are always in need of volunteers, donations of hygiene/food items, and financial contributions to help offset costs.
