Ever wonder when Arizona actually makes its laws? Here's the calendar. The Legislature kicks off its regular session on the second Monday in January. From there, it's roughly 100 days of bills being debated, passed, or killed — mostly killed, honestly. The Governor can also call Special Sessions for urgent issues at any time. And when it all wraps up, that's called Sine Die. Now you know the exact window when your phone call to a representative actually matters most.

Arizona's state legislature might seem complicated, but the math is actually pretty simple. The state is divided into 30 legislative districts. Each district elects 1 Senator and 2 Representatives. Multiply it out and you get 90 total lawmakers — 30 in the Senate and 60 in the House. Every single one of them was elected by voters in a specific district, including yours.
