The far right has known this and has made the state home to such neo-nazis as the National Socialist Movement (N.S.M.), paramilitary militias actively hunting down people along the U.S.-Mexico border, and has implemented some of the most repressive and xenophobic anti-immigration laws ever to occur in the U.S. Recently they have again made a resurgence in the Valley with the 2014 “White Man’s Mar
ch,” the National Youth Front showing up on the A.S.U. Tempe campus early in 2015 and the “Free Speech” rallies outside of mosques and Islamic Community Centers. With their highly visible and relatively unopposed presence in the valley, it is time we effectively organize against them and to offer up opposition to a culture complacent with fascism by any other name. Our effort is to combat all forms of white supremacy and patriarchy, whether or not they manifest themselves as killer cops, M.R.A's, racist legislation, nationalism or as reactionary elements that arise amongst us from within the working-class. We seek to strengthen and build valley wide networks and to show mutual and genuine solidarity to groups already engaged in the struggle against fascism. We will NEVER work with the police in any capacity and are not, nor ever will be, affiliated to any political party. Our organizing is anti-authoritarian, anti-capitalist, anti-cop, and as always, anti-fascist. Wherever fascists and racists raise their heads, we will be there to oppose them. We do not believe in ignoring them or engaging in “civil” dialogue with those that promote and inflict violence on others. The aim of the West Valley Antifa is to support local actions and to work together to directly confront and disrupt far right, racist and fascist events and their attempts to organize. We find it equally important to do this while simultaneously promoting and cultivating an antifascist working-class culture, which is capable of recognizing its potential to act autonomously for themselves and on behalf of one another. That in unity, we as a class can further our struggle for a life of dignity and collective liberation. In closing, West Valley Antifa is a closed membership organizing body. Obviously, you do not have to be a member of W.V.A to be anti-fascist or to organize against fascism in all its insidious forms. We encourage everyone to form their own autonomous Antifa/Anti-Racist Action group in the greater Phoenix area, and across the state, so that we can organize more effectively and finally crush the fascist and right wing hegemony that prevails from the state capitol to the southern border.
