Getting mental health support for a child shouldn’t take months.

Maricopa County Department of Public Health is partnering with Cartwheel to help recruit schools connect students and families to virtual mental health services, with a goal of reaching 50,000 students in the first year.

This partnership will help expand access to student mental health support in communities where care can be harder to access.

Through this program, referred students may have access to therapy, family support, parent coaching, and psychiatric care. Initial appointments are often available within about one week.

Services are voluntary, insurance is billed when available, and no family will be denied care due to inability to pay.

As housing costs continue to rise, more residents are at risk of losing their homes.

The FY 2027 budget includes one-time funding for targeted interventions designed to prevent evictions and keep people housed, especially in the hardest-hit areas of Phoenix.

This pilot program is focused on real solutions: what works, what’s sustainable, and what can be scaled to reach more families.
