Chris Grabe and Scott Johnson kept hearing these words from tourists and new residents alike. Both Arizona natives, they knew it was an untrue statement-and set out to disprove it. The two (who first met in college) reconnected when their real estate careers crossed paths
and together started a social group called New in Town to promote the offerings of the Valley of the Sun. They soon realized a couple of things: first, there was a sizable portion of the population who wanted to continue to grow their social and business circles outside of their networks which in a sprawling metro region can be challenging. Second, in a recovering economy it makes sense to stimulate growth within the community at locally owned businesses. Grabe and Johnson decided to pull these concepts together and launched Localati.com in 2012.
