Congratulations to SRO Jessica Nalley on receiving the SRO of the Nine Weeks for the final semester of the 2025-26 school year! SRO Nalley serves at Daniel High School and was recently awarded the Support Employee of the Year by her DHS coworkers. She is making an impact on her students each and every day as she not only prioritizes their safety, but also makes it a point to mentor and support them. Congratulations SRO Nalley! We are honored to serve alongside you!

Posted below you will find the exact slideshow that was presented to council by the Sheriff on May 18th. This presentation of data and facts was made after the sheriff requested to speak with council regarding the PCSO budget and current compensation. The sheriff specifically stated in that meeting that he did not expect council to fix our staffing issues in one fell swoop. However, he did ask for commitment to public safety over time and requested immediate action on our compensation issues as a starting point and show of good faith. The only response the sheriff received after that meeting was an email from one council member which stated they do not get into the “finer rules“ and that the topic did warrant more discussion. This led in to the third and final reading on Monday night, which would have approved the budget for the next year with no action whatsoever.

🚨MESSAGE FROM YOUR SHERIFF🚨Since the council meeting on Monday night there has been a lot of conversation on Facebook. Sheriff Blankenship has provided this statement to clarify some of those conversations and provide the facts as to what the pertinent issues are. PCSO would like to thank our community for the outpouring of support as we continue to advocate for our deputies.

On the afternoon of May 31st, Deputy Chris Waters was on patrol in the Easley area when he observed a vehicle make several traffic violations. Upon conducting a traffic stop, Deputy Waters observed the driver displaying actions that based on his training and experience indicated suspicious behavior. A lawful search of the vehicle produced 18.3 grams of methamphetamine.

This is an excellent example of PCSO deputies using their training and experience to always stay aware of their surroundings and diligent in the pursuit to keep drugs off of our streets. Thanks to the dedication of Deputy Waters, 18.3 grams of methamphetamine has been removed from our community streets!
