Severe weather is in the forecast for later today.

Severe weather is in the forecast for Maryland today between approximately 3-9 p.m. According to the National Weather Service, some of these storms may contain damaging wind gusts and the potential a few tornadoes, especially near northeast Maryland. There is also a threat of flash flooding, with the highest risk near and northeast of Baltimore.

From August 13-16, the State Police Impaired Driving Reduction Effort (SPIDRE) Team recorded 23 arrests for suspected DUI.

This specialized group of Maryland State Troopers conducts enforcement efforts in specific areas with high numbers of alcohol- and drug-related crashes to improve road safety.

This year-to-date, they have removed more than 500 impaired drivers from roadways.

Impaired driving (drunk or high) puts everyone at risk. Drive sober. Every trip. Every time.

This summer, Maryland State Police are participating in statewide Boys & Girls Club visits to engage with youth and support summer programming.

Here are troopers in Washington County hanging out with campers earlier this month. These moments help build trust, create lasting memories, and remind young people they have a community of adults who believe in them and are invested in their future. We are proud to be a part of this vital partnership. 💙

: Last week was the 51st Maryland State Police Softball Tournament. Each year, troopers from across the state come together for two days of friendly competition, teamwork, and camaraderie.

Congratulations to this year's winner, the Maryland State Police- Easton Barrack, and our second- and third-place winners (respectively), South Mountain and the Criminal Enforcement Division. 👏

Thank you to all of the teams, families, volunteers, officials, and supporters who helped make this year's tournament a success. We already look forward to next year!

Thank you to all who donated to the Maryland State Police Frederick Barrack for their "Pack A Patrol Car" event. All supplies collected were then given to the Boys & Girls Club of Frederick County.

: Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early this morning in Dorchester County.

The deceased is identified as a five-year-old female. An additional victim, a 30-year-old male, was flown by Maryland State Police Aviation Command to a local trauma center for treatment of his injuries.

Around 2:17 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to a residence in the 3900-block of Ocean Gateway for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, troopers located two victims with suspected gunshot wounds.

Investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene. Crime Scene Technicians from the Maryland State Police Forensic Sciences Division additionally processed the scene for evidence.

Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the Maryland State Police- Easton Barrack at 410-822-3101. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
