225th En BDE Family Readiness

225th En BDE Family Readiness Mission First. Family Always.
Family Readiness is the state of preparedness of service members and their Families through proactive education and support programs that promote self-reliance and enhanced individual and Family well being in peace and wartime. Family Readiness is a key factor in the unit, the service member, and Family morale, recruitment and retention of service members/Families, and ultimately in the successful achievement of military operations.
(1)

The FRG is a Command sponsored organization of all assigned Soldiers (married and single), DA civilians, volunteers and their Families (immediate and extended) that together provide mutual support and assistance and a network of communications between Family members, the chain of command, and community resources. While all of these individuals are automatically considered to be members of the FRG, participation is voluntary. The FRG encourages resiliency among the members by providing information, referral assistance and mutual support, and also provides activities that enhance the well-being and esprit de corps within the unit.

Mission: FAMILY READINESS SUPPORT MISSION: To empower commanders in their duty to deliver the Total Army Family Program, so that soldiers and families are entitled, informed, educated, assisted, and made ready for the unique demands of military life before, during, and after deployment.

If you were impacted by Hurricane Laura, register for DSNAP now. If DSNAP becomes available you will still need to fill out an application.

We know many people are concerned about access to food after the devastation caused by Hurricane Laura. If you were impacted, we encourage you to register for DSNAP now at http://www.dcfs.la.gov/dsnap. Then you will be ready in case a DSNAP becomes available.

The Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (DSNAP) provides eligible low-to-moderate-income households who do not currently receive SNAP benefits with help buying groceries because of lost income or damages following a disaster.

If a DSNAP becomes available, residents will receive more information about how to apply. To speed up the process, we encourage everyone in affected areas to register for the program in advance. All non-financial requirements are waived during a DSNAP (like student status, citizenship, work registration, etc.).

Please note:

โ€” SNAP recipients do not need to register for DSNAP. DSNAP is only for those not currently on SNAP.

โ€” DCFS upgraded its systems, so even if youโ€™ve registered for DSNAP during previous disasters, you must register again.

Call, visit the Red Cross Website, or download the American Red Cross App if you need assistance finding an emergency shelter.

The American Red Cross is preparing to shelter and support families from Texas to Florida as Tropical Storms Marco and Laura take aim at the Gulf Coast within hours of each other beginning today. People in the path of these storms should listen to the advice of local authorities and evacuate immediately if asked to do so.

The Red Cross has more than 400 trained disaster workers ready to provide emergency shelter and help to communities threatened by both Laura and Marco. Additional workers are standing by if needed. To make sure people have a safe place to stay, more than a dozen shelter teams are on the ground in Baton Rouge, with more spread out across the expected impacted areas. The Red Cross has also pre-positioned shelter and relief supplies all along the Gulf Coast to help people in need and working closely with community partners and emergency officials to be ready to provide aid.
