𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝗠𝗦 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 🚑
We’re excited to share some good news from Lenoir County EMS! Recent operational changes have helped improve average response times by 𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟮𝟰 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 in the City of Kinston and by 𝟭 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝟵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 countywide.

With 𝟱𝟰% of EMS calls occurring within the City of Kinston, these improvements make a difference.

EDIT: The average response time in Kinston was 𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝟯𝟵 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 before the operational changes and is now 𝟴 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝟭𝟱 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀.

Countywide, the average improved from 𝟭𝟬 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝟭𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀 to 𝟵 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲𝘀, 𝟭 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱. 🚑

Good morning ENC! Some scattered showers/thunderstorms today, but of greater note is the potential for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday PM. The morning and afternoon hours should be relatively quiet on the weather front Tuesday, but t-storms move in from the west in the evening and overnight hours. Damaging wind gusts are the greatest concern, but we can't rule out hail and/or a tornado.

🚒 Training Notice for Saturday, July 11

Please be advised that a fire department training evolution will be taking place in the area of John Mewborne Rd and Spirit Way on Saturday, July 11th, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

During this time, there will be a large number of fire trucks and emergency personnel in the area from across our county, as well as some neighboring counties, participating in this important training event.

We ask that you avoid the area if possible. If you do need to travel through the area, please use extra caution and be mindful of emergency vehicles and personnel working nearby to help keep our first responders safe.

We appreciate your patience and support as we work to strengthen training and preparedness for our community.

Several residents have been evacuated as firefighters continue battling a wildfire in the Rose Hill area. According to the Duplin County Public Safety Department, the 300-acre fire, burning near Pope Road, Corinth Church Road and Earl Davis Road, remains difficult to contain because of high winds, low humidity and shifting wind conditions.
Officials are urging the public to avoid the area so emergency crews can safely access the fire. The Rose Hill Fire Department is serving as a temporary shelter for displaced residents who need a safe place to stay.
No injuries or structural damage have been reported. Emergency officials say additional evacuations could be ordered if conditions worsen and are urging residents to monitor official Duplin County updates.
