Terry and Emma were born on the same day in 1936 – but Emma was born in Germany, and Terry was born in the United States. They discovered their common bond while participating in an exercise class. Now they celebrate their big day together with both of their families gathering at Holiday Alexis Gardens.

Happy anniversary to these two lovebirds!

Gary and Donna, residents of Holiday The Gardens at Wakefield, are celebrating 60 wonderful years of marriage.

Reflecting on their wedding day, Gary recalls the moment he first saw Donna in her wedding dress. “Donna looked beautiful in the dress her mother made for her,” he says.

“My favorite memories of the day were dancing with my new husband and dancing with my father,” Donna adds.

The couple shares that their relationship is built on constant communication, faith and love.

Meet Sandy and Helaine, best friends for 52 years. They met through their husbands and have been inseparable ever since. "We always knew we would end up living close together when we got older," laughs Sandy.

They can't get much closer than being neighbors at Holiday Chateau McKinney, spending their days together enjoying meals and programming.

With a distinguished career as an Air Marshal and Naval Officer, Russell has lived a life of service and adventure. "I also did internal security for the IRS and worked for the Treasury Department," he adds. He mentioned that he did some top-secret work as well, but he couldn't tell us any more than that. What a resume!

We're excited that he and his wife have chosen to spend their golden years at Holiday Simi Hills. "We did a lot of research before moving here," he shares.

After 11 years living in the Simi Valley area, he and his wife found a perfect fit in the Simi Hills community, enjoying the friendly residents and variety of programming.

We're honored to have Russell as a resident and hope to hear more about his amazing career!

We are honored to celebrate Atria Burlington Gardens resident Gordon, who has just been awarded the prestigious King Charles III Coronation Medal!

At just 19, Gordon landed on Juno Beach during D-Day, marking the beginning of a life dedicated to service. His contributions to Burlington have been equally remarkable, earning him the title of Ontario’s 2024 Senior of the Year. “His many accomplishments include President of the Junior Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the Burlington Planning Board, serving with the Knights of Columbus for many years, and Chair of the committee that raised more than $1 million for the local YMCA,” shares Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward.

Congratulations, Gordon, on this incredible recognition. We are proud to have such an extraordinary individual as part of the Atria family!

Meet Rich, the talented Executive Chef at Holiday Vista de la Montan͂a. He finds joy in using his 27 years of culinary experience to make every meal special for residents.

Growing up as a middle child of seven, Rich discovered his passion for cooking early on. "I loved making something good and seeing people happy," he recalls.

Rich’s favorite part of his job? "The residents and the chance to create memorable dining experiences," he says.

His omelet bar and flambé dessert demonstrations, featuring cherries jubilee and bananas foster, have been huge hits. "I can’t wait to do another one soon," he adds.

Meet Gary and Jim, best friends and neighbors at Atria The Court at Rushdale!

These two wild and crazy guys love hanging out, laughing and playing any and all games they can get their hands on. "Our games are always friendly, we just play for fun," says Jim.

You can find them shooting pool, throwing darts and getting a little competitive at shuffleboard on pretty much any afternoon. "Everyone is very friendly here. I am never alone if I don't want to be," adds Gary. "It feels like you always have a friend to do things with."

Our communities honored the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., reflecting on his message of equality, hope and service.

🎤 Holiday Forsyth Court resident Reverend Annie delivered a beautiful sermon to her community.
🖍️ Residents at Holiday Vista de la Montan͂a donated school supplies to local classrooms.
🛍️ A resident sewed 24 waterproof totes and her fellow neighbors at Holiday Village at the Falls packed them with hygiene products for those in need.

We love seeing residents give back in honor of Dr. King!

Anne and Emil are celebrating 67 years of marriage at Atria Ironwood Estates!

Their love story began with a first date at a hockey game in 1954. A surprising family connection emerged when they realized their parents had been lifelong friends in Ukraine. "It was the reunion of a lifetime,” shares Anne.

Emil and Anne’s second date was to a social, where they discovered their shared love of dancing – and they’ve been dancing together ever since.

“The Paint and Sip was a ball," exclaims resident Nancy. "All our programs are so much fun at Holiday Winter Village. Everyone enjoyed the Paint and Sip. I even made a few new friends!”

Nancy adds, “I have really enjoyed trying out all the crafts. I enjoy playing cards with my good friend Carol. Mostly I love how safe I feel."
