Aviation Machinist’s Mate 1st Class John Siwa was born and raised in Bhutan, and considers Pittsburgh his home town. He has been in the Navy for over 13 years.
AD1 says he joined the Navy to say “thank you” to this great country.
“This country gave my family the opportunity to come here, build a life, find hope, and pursue a future we may never have had anywhere else.”

Siwa says he became a recruiter because he enjoys working with people and helping them find opportunities where they can really thrive.
Prior to NTAG Pittsburgh, Siwa served at Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 116 , Fleet Readiness Center Mid-Antlantic (FRC MIDLANT), and Airborne Command & Control Squadron (VAW) 125.
