It is getting to be that time of year. Sept 1 is the first day of School. Remember an intersection is an all way stop and you may not proceed until a school bus has deactivated the warning signals.

As usual our officers will be out watching and following buses to ensure the safety of our children.

Convictions for passing a school bus are severe. $250 fine plus $35 surcharge, 5 points assigned to your driving record and a 60 day suspension of your drivers license.

Help us keep our kids safe and when in doubt or it is close, stop for the bus.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

The traffic light at McLaughlin and Baldwin St has been reconfigured to a single flashing red in all directions.

This effectively makes the intersection a 4 way stop intersection. Signs and roadway pavement markings may be done next week to assist motorists using this intersection.

REMINDER : YOU MUST COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AT A FLASHING RED SIGNAL AND MAY ONLY PROCEED WHEN SAFE TO DO SO ( see pa vehicle code 3114 and 3323)

Parking Enforcement Notice

August 1 we will begin the enforcement of Pa Motor Vehicle Code 3354 Additional Parking Regulations which requires the right tires of your vehicle to be parked within 12 inches of the curb ( parking with traffic).

Do we care if your tires are 13 inches from the curb? No. Do we care if you are 36 inches from the curb ? Yes, you’re in the middle of the road. Do we care if you are parked with the flow of traffic yes. Which is what we are enforcing.

We have issued months of warnings and will begin enforcement August 1.

TRAFFIC ADVISORY

Bridgeville 125th celebration will be having a parade on Sunday July 19th starting at 12:30PM.

The parade route will be from Washington Ave St to Bower Hill and onto Commercial Dr.

Washington Ave will be closed to all traffic starting at 12:30 SHARP.
Bower Hill will be closed at Railroad St/ Washington Ave and Carol Ave during the parade.

All access to the affected roadways will be blocked by Barricades/Police and Fire Personnel.

It is recommended you detour around the closures by use of I79, and also Chartiers St as Chartiers will be the first road to reopen once the parade passes this location.

The closures are expected to be for 30-45 minutes in duration and we will reopen the roadways as soon as possible.

Be prepared for heavy traffic and delays during this time period.

Come out to see the parade and celebrate the Borough’s 125th year!
