One chapter ends and another begins…Please allow me to introduce the newest member of the Robinson Township Police Department, K9 Rocky!! K9 Rocky is a 13 month old Belgian Malinois imported from Poland. Ofc. Bryan attended the trainers course at Shallow Creek Kennels - Premier Police Service Dogs kennels for 12 weeks where he was partnered with K9 Rocky. K9 Rocky is certified in patrol & narcotics through the North American Police Work Dog Association. K9 Rocky will start his duties on 08/04/2021.

Thank you to Township of Robinson, donors & supporters, and all those that made this possible! We are very fortunate to have the support we do.

I would personally like to thank the staff at Shallow Creek Kennels for an absolutely amazing experience. I cannot thank John, Ms. lisa, Jeremy & Ms. Tisa, Mike, Joe, Maddie, Danielle, Rob, and Chris for all that they did for K9 Rocky and I. The time, effort, and dedication that goes into testing, selecting, importing and training working dogs is no small feat and thats why Shallow Creek Kennels is the best at what they do. We are proud to be !!! 🐾🐾

Well today’s the day…K9 Sarik’s last official shift as a member of the Robinson Township Police Department!! K9 Sarik was the 1st K9 in department history and started training in February of 2013 with the Pittsburgh Police K-9 Unit after being selected from Shallow Creek Kennels - Premier Police Service Dogs. K9 Sarik started his career with department in May of 2013.

The K9 program could not have been started without the help of Robinson EMS, Ben Roethlisberger - BigBen7.com, Township of Robinson, Robinson Animal Hospital, Moon Run Volunteer Fire Company, Diehl Automotive Group, Total Image Auto Sport, Embroidery PGH and Chief Dale Vietmeier (RET).

There are so many people to thank for all their help along the way…The handlers & training staff of the Pittsburgh Police K9 Unit, who without these guys we would have never made it!! Our K9 training group Monaca Police Department K9 Unit, Findlay Township, Castle Shannon, New Sewickley, Mt. Lebanon, Center Township, and North Fayette…I thank you guys for all the good times and great training over the years. All the donors and supporters of our K9 program & fundraisers….simply put, we owe you everything and would not be here without you! Dr. Henkel of Robinson Animal Hospital who has donated his time, talents, and wallet to make sure K9 Sarik had the best veterinary care possible. The officers & administration of the Robinson Township Police Department for their help & support along the way. A special thank you goes out to Sarik’s Mom & sister for putting up with him and I over the years!!

Lastly, I would like to thank K9 Sarik for the last 8 years of being by my side. It has not been easy by any strech of the imagination but it has been by far the best part of my career. K9 Sarik’s accomplishments were many and we won more than we lost and that’s all any handler could ever ask for. I never worried about how he would handle any situation and when I needed him he was always there. Thank you for your service and enjoy retirement, you earned it!! 🐾 PS…big news coming tomorrow!

Thanks to Mr. Henke’s 1st Grade class at Chartiers Valley School District for having K9 Sarik and I for a visit today. The class was explained the duties of a police K9 and read Officer Buckle & Gloria. We finished our visit with some great questions and snacks!!! 🐕🐾

Summer is here! With scorching temperatures comes risks that can be preventable. See below!

Here are some simple rules to follow to protect your dogs paws:

1. If it’s too hot for you, it’s way to hot for your dog.
2. Use your own hands or feet for 7-10 seconds to assess the heat level.
3. Do not use air temperature to assess the ground temperature.
4. Several surfaces such as asphalt and concrete retain heat with temperature rising with more sun exposure.

We are one day away from our 5th Annual Sporting clays shoot!!! Some last minutes details......

There will be signs directing you to the Lodge at Sporting Clays upon entering 7 Springs (Weather looks good but bring rain gear!!!) please call the sporting clays office if you need directions (800-452-2223)

Doors open & registration begins 10a-12p

Raffles open 10a 50/50 (Cash Only), Gun & Safe Raffle & Chinese Auctions (cash, check, credit cards accepted) ATM on site

Continental Breakfast will be held in our Hospitality area outside the main entrance (look for the blue tent)

Rental guns will be available at each station at no cost

Ammunition (100 rounds for the main course & extras if you plan to shoot warm ups/fun stations) The pro shop has ammo on site.

2 man flush & 5 Stand will be open to shoot from 10a-12p (extra cost)

RTIC Drinkware Trophies by Pittsburgh Cerakote Company awarded for 5 Stand, 2 Man Flush, Team 100 bird Main Event, and High Overall Male & Female
