**Very Important!!** If you purchased grapevines from Costco between April 21st and May 22nd, please read the following press release for information about guidance on how to prevent further spread and infestation of the glassy-winged sharpshooter (GWSS) found on the plants.

The county has already spent 4 million dollars of State emergency funds on trying to treat in Serrano, since October of 2024, and they are still finding living GWSS of all life stages. Please do your part to help protect the agricultural resources of EDC and CA!

Here is a good explanation of E Bike and E Motos. There are differences and many are illegal to operate on public streets, especially for minors. Parents. please educate yourselves on what is legal before you buy your children a new bike. There have been lots of problems locally with kids riding illegal Motos. We have had a couple major injury collisions and there are many negative encounters with law enforcement. Keeps your kids safe and know what you are buying them. If you are not sure what you want to buy is legal, please reach out to the CHP or sheriffs office for more information.

Last week Supervisor Veerkamp along with the Deputy Director of Health and Human Services and the Chief Communications Officer lobbied at the capitol to get the state to pay for the mandates they require of all California counties. Specifically we are asking for funding of the Medi Cal and Cal Fresh programs. Since HR-1 was passed there currently is no funding for these programs from the state. Without the required funding, counties are going to have to absorb millions of dollars to pay for the state mandated programs. Thank you to Assembymembers Patterson and Hadwick and Senator Gil for meeting with our team.

Got to meet with our local WEBELOS. Our meeting satisfied requirement #2 in their required "My Community" adventure meeting with an elected official. They had some great questions and were a joy to hang out with. Scouting America wants to prepare their scouts to become responsible, participating citizens and leaders who are guided by the Scout Oath and Law.
