Proud to help our brothers and sisters from Los Angeles County Firefighters, IAFF Local 1014 present this flag on their behalf.
David Baumann insisted on making the 1,400-mile drive from California to Texas to fulfill an obligation to a dear friend who died in the line of duty.
On this day, We Will Never Forget!
Join us today in honoring the memory of all those that fell to tragedy on September 11, 2001.
Did you know that suicide is one of the leading killers of firefighters and paramedics?
One of the Plano Firefighters Association’s most important initiatives is supporting the emotional health and wellness of our members. What does that mean?
It means developing an in-house peer support program in conjunction with the IAFF Peer Support Training Team.
It means identifying qualified and “culturally competent” counselors and healthcare providers for our members and funding significant portions of this treatment, which are not always covered by insurance.
Providing our members access to emotional health and wellness support and healthcare is one of our top priorities and largest budget items. Without all of our members joining together and pooling our resources, none of these programs would be possible.
Happy Labor Day from your Plano Firefighters!
💧 Water is essential for the extinguishment of structure fires. The way we access large quantities of water is through the strategic placement of fire hydrants throughout the City of Plano. Please don’t park in front of our water access. It could be your property or life we are trying to save!
From our house fire this morning...this is why you are not supposed to park in front of a fire hydrant.
Getting started early this morning. Plano Firefighters are on scene of a working structure fire in the 1200 block of Pioneer Lane. Initial crews checked out with heavy fire showing and zero visibility inside. They searched the house and knocked the fire down with an aggressive attack. Stay safe, guys.
Your Plano Firefighters and Paramedics are cross trained in multiple rescue and medical disciplines. Tonight, 13 of our members are deployed with members of other North Texas departments to fight wildfires in California and ahead of Hurricane Laura’s landfall. When disaster strikes, your local firefighters are the first ones on the front lines. Here’s to safe journeys for all of these brave men and women.
Safe travels to our Plano Fire-Rescue crew members working alongside Frisco FD as they serve our fellow Texans along the coast.
Frisco's AMBUS (MPV-201) was deployed last night to Beaumont in advance of Tropical Storm Marco and Hurricane Laura with four Frisco Firefighters and two Plano Firefighters. They will be in staging until they receive further orders. Stay safe guys!!
Good stuff from Plano’s finest! Strong work Plano Police Department!
Community Kindness
There are acts of kindness that take place each day many of us never hear about. Today, we were contacted by a dispatcher to make us aware of an incident. Our officers responded to a call of concern about a homeless man. Our officers spoke to the man and offered to provide him assistance. As often happens, he advised he was fine and refused our help. Officer David Hogan noticed the man’s shoes were so worn that they were shredded. After finishing with the call, Officer Hogan went and bought the man a pair of shoes so he would have a decent pair since he walked everywhere he went.
This is just another example of the kind acts law enforcement officers do on a regular basis, but we rarely hear about it. We don’t do this for recognition, we do it because we care. Officer Hogan, thank you for your kindness and empathy towards this gentleman. We are proud to have you as a member of the Plano Police Department and serving ALL members of our community.

Final Update (9:45am): Atmos Energy has stopped the leak and fire personnel are clearing the scene.
Update (9:15am): Atmos is onscene and beginning the repair. The line that was hit provides gas service to a single house so the repair is not expected to take a long time. Several houses adjacent to the leak were evacuated out of an abundance of caution.
Our crews along with Atmos Energy are on scene of a gas leak in the 3300-block of Legacy (Legacy and Marchman). The gas leak was caused by construction work being done on the north side of Legacy. Westbound Legacy has been restricted to one lane of travel while the repair is being made so it is best to avoid the area.
On this Memorial Day we remember & honor those that paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving in America’s Armed Forces. Several firefighters from across the city participated in a Memorial Day ‘Hero’ workout to show respect to the fallen.
The most common hero workout on this day is named ‘Murph.’ The workout is named after Lieutenant Michael P. Murphy, a US Navy Seal who was killed in Afghanistan on June 28, 2005. The workout consists of...
- 1 mile run
- 100 Pull-ups
- 200 Push-ups
- 300 Squats

Sometimes we are referred to as a 'Superhero', but our superheroes are the Administrative Professionals. They are behind the scenes taking care of us and we want to say Thank You to all the Plano Fire-Rescue Administrative Professionals!
Please keep our brothers in blue in your prayers as San Marcos PD is mourning the loss of one of their officers.
Our family in blue is mourning the loss of our fallen brother, Officer Justin R. Putnam, who was killed in the line of duty last evening. Officer Putnam was with SMPD for more than five years. Words can never adequately express our profound sorrow for Officer Putnam's family and loved ones. To say he will be missed is an understatement. Two other officers were wounded during the same incident, Officer Franco C. Stewart and Officer Justin P. Mueller. Both are in critical but stable condition following surgeries. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families. We respectfully ask that all three families are given time to grieve and deal with their situations in private but we thank the community for the overwhelming outpouring of love and support. We greatly appreciate it.
We want to say Thank You to all the loving Citizens from across Plano who go above and beyond by reaching out to us during this pandemic. We found this hidden gem in front of Rescue 4 @ Plano Fire Station 4. #LovePlano
