Reps. Taylor, Shalala Introduce Bipartisan Bill to Improve Collection and Reporting of Public Health Data

The Coronavirus pandemic has highlighted long-standing inconsistencies in the collection and reporting of public health data amongst federal, state, and local jurisdictions. Today, joined by my colleague Congresswoman Shalala, I introduced legislation to help ensure public health officials have access to the best information and data available when making important decisions that ultimately impact the health and wellbeing of all Americans.

Congressman Van Taylor (R-TX-03), was joined by Congresswoman Donna Shalala (D-FL-27) to introduce bipartisan legislation in the House of Representatives to harmonize the collection and reporting of public health data across all levels of government.

Collin County Veterans face longer wait times and are forced to travel further distances to access VA medical care compared to Veterans in surrounding communities. Today, I sent a letter to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Robert Wilkie, requesting an increase of VA health care facilities in Collin County.

On September 11, 2001, I was serving my last day at the 4th Civil Affairs Group at the Anacostia Naval Annex. I was supposed to have lunch at the Pentagon that day, but instead I watched smoke rise from across the Potomac River as the Pentagon burned from the 9-11 terrorist attack.

That day, I swore to always serve and make a difference and today I had the opportunity to join local first responders and community leaders across Collin County, in Plano, McKinney, and Prosper, to reflect on the unshakeable solidarity and strength of the American people and remember the lives lost that tragic day. #NeverForget

In 1893, the first attempt to organize the women’s suffrage movement in Texas took place in Dallas. Twenty years later, the Lone Star State became the first in the south to ratify the 19th Amendment. Our nation could not thrive without strong and determined women. #WomensVote100 ‬

Thank you for your hard work!

Do NOT move the Cenotaph and do NOT "reimagine" the Alamo!!!!! The Alamo master plan is an atrocity to historic preservation...and I speak as a UNESCO trained professional preservationist!
I was just contacted by someone representing themselves as an independent survey regarding politics and current events. Soon into the survey, it was clear this was a call supporting Van Taylor and spewing outright lies about his opponent. When I tried to email you, I was denied access because my zip 4 is in a different district. So, question 1, why would you call me in the 1st place and question 2 why not be honest And say the call was looking for support and an opportunity to spread lies about your opponent.
What are you doing to save USPS?
I have a friend in prison for about 4 years. On 9/11/2019, the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals vacated his case. He remained in prison for almost a year and was recently released, because of the Wuhan Flu. But still cannot leave the home and has to wear an ankle bracelet. What should be his next step? This is an outrage as he has never broken the law ever. His file # is 0745-18 and you can see his case was annularly.
I'm not seeing a contact/comments option on your website...am I just missing it?
Hello, Rep. Van Taylor. I’m a Borgen Project supporter and I would like you to support at least $20 billion in the next emergency supplemental for the International Affairs Budget to fight COVID-19.” The proposed $20 billion would include resources for the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, Gavi the Vaccine Alliance as well as life-saving anti-hunger and nutrition programs. This funding is also essential to U.S. leadership in combating the COVID-19 pandemic globally and to protecting the health, security and economic interests of all Americans.
Congressman, my son needs to interview a public servant for boy scouts about constitutional rights. Would you be willing and able to have a Zoom call with him for a few minutes? Thank you.
This is happening. Conservatives are being censored daily at an exponential rate. Please do something!
Disappointed that you voted to remove selected historical items from the capitol. You cannot be selective when it comes to historical memory. You owe your Texas constituents an apology. Apparently your New England education has cancelled out your Texan common sense.
Van Taylor, you voted to remove statues of confederate war veterans from the capitol. When I voted for you, I didn't realize you were part of the Cancel Culture. I, and millions of Americans are sick to death of this Knee-jerk Political correctness and erasure of American History.
I'd like to ask that you push Texas government officials, especially the Governor, Attorney General and TEA commissioner, to lead by example on school re-opening. They should set an example and for the first 2 to 3 weeks spend a day in a variety of schools helping out. Show us how to enforce social distancing in a class of 24 6 and 7 year olds, tell 17 & 18 year olds they can't hold hands, help clean our rooms in the 5 minutes between classes, all the other expectations that are being put on teachers to keep our students safe. Think of the example that would set! We're going to do our best to not only teach the students but keep them safe. But it sure would be nice to know that the Texas politicians who are pushing for the schools to re-open are willing to take the same risks we are
