Last week, the Allen Chamber hosted the very first meeting of the newly-formed Nonprofit Industry Council, a Chamber engagement group that connects local nonprofit organizations with area business leaders looking to support them.
In 2025 16,400 households called the homeless response system for the Dallas-Collin Counties area. Through diversion, 10,800 retained their housing.
In 2025, 6,171 individuals were placed into housing from a state of homelessness.
In 2025 it took 50 days to move someone into a housing unit. Thus, for 50 days those individuals lived in shelters, short-term motels or on the street.
In 2025 there were 8,750 new individuals flowing into homelessness.

On any given day in Dallas and Collin County 3,541 individuals are homeless, with 1,037 unsheltered.
On any given day in Collin County there are 641 individuals who are homeless, 288 are single individuals, 351 are family groups and 2 are children (under the age of 18 without an adult present).
On any given day in Collin County there are 10 veterans who are homeless.
On any given day in Collin County 139 individuals will be unsheltered. At the same time, 502 will be sheltered in temporary facilities.
On any given day in Collin County 302 homeless individuals will be female. Forty-two will be unsheltered. Of those sheltered, 191 will be with children.
