Help! My orchids aren’t thriving and they were due to start flowering this year and I don’t think they are healthy enough for that! I’ll post more pics in the comments! I bought these in Hawaii two years ago and they said they would start blooming in two years! What am I doing wrong?
No my photo but what type of orchid And can she live here in Texas?
I just found dozens of army worm moths on my orchids outside. I’ve shoo’d away the pests and brought the plants inside, but am worried about any eggs that might be left. Could anyone suggest the best way to prevent a caterpillar disaster?!? If these were the average potted plants, I would use Bt, but I’m afraid to use just “anything” on my orchids. Thank you.
Hi. Hope someone can help me. Left orchids out for a week while traveling. One of five were damaged. Sun burn? Thanks
Hello all we have started a page for green house lovers called: "Harbor Freight Green house Sharing Group". It's for any one that has or is thinking about getting a green house to share ideas about updates on your green house or just what you do or are planning on doing. It was created with Harbor Freight green hoses in mind but is open to every one. We would love to hear ideas about growing orchids in this Texas heat.
I started a new page called: Harbor Freight Green House Sharing Group. I love Orchids and moved to Texas from California a year and a half ago. I'm having some trouble learning how to adjust my watering to the heat and humidity here. I started growing my Phals on branches with roots exposed It's an experiment but so far I am having great success with root development. Time will tell how it works out in the long run. I just want to invite every one to come check out our new page. I created it to share what I have learned and what I am learning about Harbor Freight green houses and Green house growing in general . Every one is welcome
I came from California, we had a pretty dry environment , very little humidity. Here I live east of Dallas and the humidity is extremely high. So what do you pot cattleya orchids in here ? And where can I purchase it? One note I mist my green house at least one time a day. I grow many plants on branches / boards with little or no medium. Bromeliads, Phals, and dendrobiums.
I moved to Gilmer Tx about a year and a half ago for the Bay Area in California. I am having some difficulty adjusting to the climate here. Since I moved here my Dem Kingianums are struggling to stay alive. How do others grow them here with this heat and humidity? Second question is where do you get orchid bark and other supplies here. In Calif I could just go to any local nursery and get bark and other items.
Hello, I am new to the area and love would love to get updates on upcoming shows or meetings my email is Stransky52802gmail.com. Thank you!
