This is what political propaganda from the activist media looks like. Just say “disinformation” every other sentence and get your readers nodding along like zombies, chanting “disinformation... disinformation...” but don’t actually explain how anything is disinformation, nor even link to other sources which do so. Just make your assertion over and over again.

If you read my articles, you know I reference, cite, and link the living daylights out of everything, and back up everything I say. If a “news” source like CNN doesn’t do the same, that should cause warning alarms to go off in your head. Take a look for yourself here: https://www.shelbyhwilliams.org/blog.

A free society requires more speech, not less; more references and explanations, not fewer. There is an ongoing effort to suppress free speech under the auspices of “protecting” us from “disinformation.” Half a second’s thought ought to tell anyone how dangerous that is.

What it really means is protecting you from independent thought.

Here’s the CNN article: https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/13/business/stop-the-steal-disinformation-campaign-invs/index.html

In the chaos of Election Day, I completely forgot to share these pictures from the Blake Coleman Day Proclamation! For those who missed it, in September, Plano-native Blake Coleman became the first Texan to win the Stanley Cup, the most coveted trophy in all of sports.

Blake, who grew up watching the Dallas Stars, and now plays for the Tampa Bay Lightning, ironically won the cup against the Stars, and scoring against them in the cup-winning game 6 of the finals.

Congratulations to Blake, Plano’s hometown hockey hero!

Today is Veterans Day. The United States Armed Forces represent the most powerful military in the history of the world. There are two extraordinary things that set it apart from other great military powers in history:

1) With overwhelming military might, the United States doesn't seek to conquer

2) Unlike the Roman Army, in which service was compulsory, or the Mongol Horde, which would drive captives from the last conquered city at the front of the assault on the next, members of the United States Armed Forces all serve voluntarily

Our warriors don't volunteer because they're bored, or because America offers no other opportunities in life, or because they're curious what it's like to have their legs blown off by an IED. They do it because they believe in America and what we stand for. Whether they were born here or immigrated here, they have the will and the heart to put their very life on the line to fight for the Liberty that America represents.

God Bless our soldiers and our veterans. Freedom isn't free, and without you, the world would long ago have succumbed to darkness. You are the gleaming tip of the spear of Freedom, and we owe you much more than our thanks.

Two big announcements:

1) This council has never had a meaningful discussion on density. That changes Monday. Details inside.

2) In other news, I have posthumously declared Sean Connery to be King of Scotland. This has the same force of law as the media's declaration of the outcome of the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election while there is pending litigation, votes are uncertified, and the meeting of the electoral college has not yet taken place.

10/31/2020

This is a game changer for Plano. It’s long been known that we’ve had a worsening imbalance in Plano with the rates our residents pay for water. Now that will change.

Thanks to the hard work of our City Manager, Mark Israelson, City Attorney, Paige Mims, our tremendous staff, and partnership with our sister cities in the North Texas Municipal Water District, the imbalance will be reduced over the next few years until it’s eliminated entirely.

Breaking news regarding the City of Plano's water contract agreement with the North Texas Municipal Water District:

The City of Plano is delighted the North Texas Municipal Water District’s member cities came together and forged a unified agreement on a contract that will benefit generations to come.

The new water contract signed by all 13 member cities addresses a long standing issue Plano raised more than a decade ago. Under the old contract, Plano, along with Garland, Mesquite and Richardson paid tens of millions of dollars at the expense of our taxpayers for water we did not use. Member cities paid according to a ‘take or pay” system that was based on our greatest single year of use. That level could not be reduced, regardless of whether or not the city uses the entire amount of water it paid for. The greatest use of water for Plano was in 2001, a time when water conservation was not anticipated. Years of drought and the successful adoption of water conservation strategies have changed the amount and way water is used; and it was unlikely the cities would ever again use the minimums that were set by their greatest annual usage.

Under the new unified agreement, member cities are no longer locked into “take or pay.” Instead of highest annual usage, rates will transition over time to a 5-year rolling average. The new agreement will create a system that incentivizes conservation and provides significant long term or “generational” savings for member cities who conserve while ensuring the long-term financial health of the water district. This new agreement strengthens our region.

The City of Plano extends our deep appreciation to our fellow member cities who came together to forge an agreement. It obviously wasn’t easy. The old contract could not be changed without the unanimous agreement of all 13 member cities. Everyone had to give a little. But in the end, after several years of negotiations, everyone shared a common desire to unify to implement a new rate structure that is fair and equitable to all. We sincerely appreciate the hard work and time everyone put into this process. We are unified on a path toward the future, which is bright, full of promise, and will provide water security for our City and region.

We also express our gratitude and appreciation to all the North Texas Municipal Water District board members who served as Plano’s representatives through the years. They include Ron Kelley and Phil Dyer, who currently serve on the board and past board members James “Rod” Hogan, Shep Stahel, Jerry E. Yancey, Alex R. Schell, III, Scott Ahlstrom, David McCall, Jr., D.B. Dickson, and A.R. Schell, Jr.

We appreciate the hard work of the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) in shepherding our case over the last four years, focusing on the important issues raised by the parties, and strongly encouraging all 13 member cities, along with the NTMWD, to reach a mutually beneficial settlement.

There’s a reason Plano has the best Police Department in the nation!

Meet Officer More -

Officer T. More joined the Plano Police Department in 2008 and currently serves as a School Resource Officer at Rice Middle School. Before joining our department, he served as a Police Officer for the Montgomery County Police Department in Maryland.

Officer More grew up in a military family and earned a Bachelors Degree in Communication Studies from Towson University. He has received his Master Peace Officer certification, the highest level of certification for a Texas Peace Officer. During his tenure here, he has earned several Advanced Physical Fitness and Chief's Unit Awards. He enjoys traveling, motorcycles, and coaching recreational sports.

A "fun fact" about Officer More is he always wanted to be a Firefighter. Well, we are happy he chose the law enforcement profession instead and also that he selected our department to be part of.

The Truth About Trump

Reposting in its entirety. Refute any of it. I double-dog dare you. Share.

The media has successfully framed this election as a referendum on President Trump, whom for years we've been told is a racist, a fascist, a bigot, a Russian operative, and the list goes on. These defamatory assertions have been extended to all Republicans. The "evidence" for all of this is a remarkable display of specious reasoning, or outright fabrication (think the Steele Dossier). You can like or dislike Trump, his Tweets, or his aggressiveness, but it's crucial to pay attention to what people actually say and do--not to what their detractors say they say and do. Everyone needs to vote, but vote based on the truth. Here's a dose.

This isn't meant to be an exhaustive point-and-counterpoint to everything anyone has said about President Trump. I'd never finish writing. But here are the greatest hits--the most pernicious, most frequently repeated lies about the President. These aren't my opinion--I'm simply presenting the independently verifiable evidence the media won't show you, and each one takes only a couple of minutes to review and learn the truth. That is, for anyone who cares about the truth.

MYTH #1: Trump called white supremacists "very fine people"
A cherry-picked statement from a press conference after Charlottesville is the basis for which millions have spun and spread the lie that President Trump defended neo-nazis and white nationalists. See the truth for yourself in this actual video footage of the press conference from CNBC: https://youtu.be/JmaZR8E12bs

The video starts at 0:59 seconds, just before the infamous "very fine people on both sides" line. What the media and the left have completely buried is that President Trump was speaking explicitly about protestors and counter-protestors regarding a Confederate statue. He was NOT speaking about the Unite the Right rally.

But don't take my word for it--keep watching. Less than one minute later, at 1:58, he says, "I'm not talking about the neo-nazis and the white nationalists. They should be condemned, totally." You've been lied to; a lie propagated by wolves with an agenda. Will you be a sheep?

MYTH #2: Trump Implemented a "Muslim Ban"
Review my brief article, where it took me less than five minutes to debunk this lie with cold, hard facts: https://www.shelbyhwilliams.org/post/the-myth-of-the-muslim-ban

MYTH #3: Trump Refuses to Condemn Racism
his is an easy narrative to push when you deliberately bury the countless times he's done so. Here's a montage of him denouncing racism and white supremacy repeatedly over many years: https://youtu.be/gpNoU5W-RwQ

MYTH #4: Trump Lied, 220,362 People Died
If you really believe Trump caused the global SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, you're just a deranged idiot. I'm sorry, I can't help you.

If you even think that he did nothing or handled the pandemic phenomenally worse than anyone else, holding to his constitutional authority, there's still not much I can do for you.

MYTH #5: But, But, But!
"R" (for "racist") is the new Scarlet Letter, and these days, anything and everything proves racism. Below is just a sampling of the things people say to "prove" President Trump is racist. Before you can evaluate whether these are racist, you have to have a definition of racism.

Contrary to what the modern progressive left would have you believe, it is not defined as: "anything critical of anyone who isn't white" or worse, "whatever someone I don't like does."

Even Mirriam-Webster, which keeps changing definitions to appease the woke left, defines racism as: "a believe that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race." https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/racism

My own simple definition of racism is: "treating people as inferior on the basis of race."

So evaluate the things below and ask yourself honestly whether any of these are reflective of any actual definition of racism:

1) Trump called Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas": remember, Elizabeth Warren was exposed lying about being Native American to get ahead at Harvard. She finally took a DNA test which showed that she's only slightly more Native American than I am German Shephard. So was he racist to call her Pocahontas? Sure, if she were actually Native American. Or do you think he was being sarcastic and derogative about her lies? https://www.wsj.com/articles/elizabeth-warren-again-apologizes-after-release-of-native-american-ancestry-link-11566241904

2) Trump took out full-page ads in the New York Times about the Central Park Five: if you've only heard about this issue from Don Lemon or Netflix (of "Cuties" fame), you don't know the first thing about it. Read up on it just a little bit. Here is a piece on the WSJ from someone actually involved: https://www.wsj.com/articles/netflixs-false-story-of-the-central-park-five-11560207823. There were numerous attacks in Central Park that night, and multiple people were hospitalized, not just the rape victim in question. Moreover, more than a decade later, the accused were not "exonerated" based on exculpatory evidence--their sentences (most of which were already served) were vacated after a sudden confession from Matias Reyes, who really didn't have much to lose. There's an enormous difference. Whether or not you believe the Central Park Five were guilty, ask yourself honestly whether you believe Trump's ads were attacking race, or crime.

3) Trump called all Mexicans "rapists": Naturally, he did no such thing, but again, don't take my word for it (or CNN's). Watch what he says for yourself on the C-SPAN video here: https://youtu.be/apjNfkysjbM?t=180. I've set the video to start at his comments about Mexico, but if you watch from the beginning, he talks about the U.S. getting our hat handed to us by many countries in a variety of contexts. Of Mexico he says, "They're killing us economically" before he goes on to say Mexico isn't sending their best (which for anyone with intellectual honesty clearly shows he's not making a blanket statement based on race), but pay special attention at 3:54, he says, "and some, I assume, are good people." Isn't it ironic that the media bury the clip of him calling Mexicans good people, but then assert that he called white supremacists at Charlottesville "fine people" while burying his explicit condemnation of white supremacists? You're being played. So again, ask yourself whether his comments about the drugs and crime coming across our southern border are true or false (remember El Chapo?), and ask yourself whether that recognition has anything at all to do with race.

4) Trump called COVID the "China Virus": for those who aren't deranged idiots who think Trump caused the pandemic, you do remember that Trump was in a trade war with China before COVID-19, yes? You do remember where this virus originated, yes? You do remember that the Chinese Communist Party suppressed all information about the virus until it was simply beyond containment, yes? You do remember that the Chinese Communist Party is Communist, yes? You do remember that Communism is an evil, insidious ideology responsible for more death and human suffering than any other socio-economic system in human history, yes? So yet again, ask yourself whether you think his branding of COVID-19 as the "China Virus" has anything to do with race. And just in case you doubt what the hatred and narrative is really about, I was lambasted for proposing to instead call it the "Communist Virus." https://www.facebook.com/ShelbyHWilliams.org/posts/2597333153925151

PROMISES MADE, PROMISES KEPT
Whether you like him or not, President Trump does what he says he'll do, and what he actually does tells the true story. But don't take my word for it, review what he's actually done:

List of Trump's Executive Orders: https://www.federalregister.gov/presidential-documents/executive-orders/donald-trump/2020

List of Trump's accomplishments: https://www.promiseskept.com/ (includes peace breaking out in the Middle East. The fact that his detractors call that a "distraction" really tells you all you need to know.)

So go vote, but before you buy into what "everyone knows," question it. Just use your own logic and self-honesty, and exercise your right to think for yourself. Sometimes, what "everyone knows" isn't worth a hill of beans. Just ask Galileo.

https://www.shelbyhwilliams.org/post/the-truth-about-trump

It's crucial to pay attention to what people actually say and do--not not to what their detractors say they say and do.
