The City of Richardson is partnering with Hacking Autism to host a one-day Hack-a-Thon brainstorming workshop on Sept 9 from 9am-4pm and we need your help! This is the kickoff activity of Richardson's inaugural Inclusion is Magical event, featuring a three-day showcase of art and performances of the autistic community https://www.cor.net/Home/Components/News/News/5822/73.
A trained team will lead participants through a brainstorming ‘Hack-a-Thon’ to discuss employment challenges facing the autistic community and come up with initiatives that can be acted upon by the Richardson community. National data shows the majority of people with autism are underemployed or unemployed. There is a whole community of untapped talent and significant contributions that we are missing out on. This is why the City of Richardson is leading the charge to create ideas and take action on them – all in a single day hack-a-thon. The event will be led by Hacking Autism founder and former Hewlett Packard Chief Technology Officer Phil McKinney. Hacking Autism is a nonprofit with a mission to fund, create and support opportunities that improve the personal and professional lives of people on the autism spectrum.
