Students and Families we will be back at school tomorrow running our normal schedule. Stay warm!

As we prepare to return to school on Friday, February 25, safety is our top priority. Plano ISD crews have been at campuses during today’s closure to keep schools warm and to mitigate icy surfaces as possible. We encourage everyone to take extra care on the way to school in the morning, bundle up and, if needed, check bus information at www.pisd.edu/latebus. Read our full Safe Return to School message at https://bit.ly/3vg8vNO.

Due to the forecast for inclement weather, extreme temperatures and the potential for unsafe driving conditions, Plano ISD is canceling all after school and evening activities for Wednesday, February 23, and closing all schools and facilities on Thursday, February 24. PASAR After School Care will be closing early on Wednesday. Read more: https://www.pisd.edu/Page/25976

With today's extreme temperatures, bus riders are encouraged to please check the Plano ISD website for bus delays before sending students to their bus stops this morning. You can monitor the website at www.pisd.edu/latebus for details about your specific route. If your child's bus is late, please know that it is on the way, or you may want to consider driving your student to school. Please bundle up and stay warm heading out this morning.

Did you know the Plano Police Department offers a program called “Take Me Home”? This program is designed for people who either has a disability or would have a problem finding their way home if they wandered off.

When a participant in the Take Me Home program is encountered by a Police Officer, the officer can access the Take Me Home database by name or by the person's description to locate their enrollment record. Using this information, the officer can appropriately assist the person.

To find out more about this great program, visit https://www.plano.gov/1167/Take-Me-Home-Program

In keeping with our , we want to thank our amazing staff here at the Solomon Center. We would not be able to open our doors each day without these two wonderful individuals.

Freddy makes sure our building is cleaned and ready for students each morning. Without him, our days would not run as smoothly. Thank you for caring for our students and staff!

Quinn prepares breakfast and lunch at the Solomon Center. She helps train some of our students to work in the lunch line to better prepare them for other jobs in the foodservice industry in the future. Thank you!

Ashley misses all of y'all so much! She was just getting settled into her new school with all new teachers and friends when Corona took over. Stay safe and healthy and we'll see you in August (God willing). Thank you for all you do for my girl and all of your students! Our family appreciates you!
Sarah and I want to say a very BIG THANK YOU to all her teachers for being THE BEST!!!! She misses you all!!
Since I missed sending you all a song yesterday, here's a short video of Sarah dancing at the State Fair last year. Her guitar teacher was about to perform, and she was really gettin' it with the warm up band!!
During this week of Teacher Appreciation the Cox family wants to give a shout out to the all the Life Coaches at Solomon Center. Garrison is missing seeing you in person but we appreciate so much everything you all have been doing to engage our kids...not only throughout the year, but especially during this challenging time. You all stay healthy and enjoy your weekend!
Solomon Center for Adult Transition, a Plano ISD school located in Plano, TX, will be passively raising funds for their school starting this summer and for years to come. When you’re cleaning out your closets why not support their school by dropping off your gently worn shoes, clothing, purses, wallets, hats/caps, backpacks, toys and stuffed animals in their bin? They’ll be paid by the pound for every pound placed in the bin. It’s a great way to clean out your home and do some good for this important school. Don’t forget to watch the Netflix show Tidying Up with Marie Kondo to spur you on to clean your closets. Plano ISD Adult Transition Center
