Chief Jim Bradford Chief of Police
Plant City (FL) Police Department

PCPD’s new Chief of Police, James Bradford, hopes to increase transparency, continue to build a bridge between the department and the community and leave a legacy of “leading from the front” during his time at the helm. When all is said and done, Bradford hopes he is remembered for “leading from the front.” He wants to use his time as chief to maintain the example set before his as well as improve

on the working conditions for his officers. He said police work is really all he’s ever known and he hopes that he can continue to make PCPD the best place to work for those who feel this is their calling.

The Plant City Police Department, in partnership with the Plant City Chamber of Commerce and Jarrett Scott Ford, is participating in the Pink Patch Project. The goal of the Project is to raise funds to further the research, treatment, and care of those battling or have battled cancer.

The Pink Patch Project centers on a vibrant pink version of our police uniform patch, which will be for sale for $10 each. In addition, key chains will be for sale for $7 each. 100% of the proceeds from the sale of these patches and keychains will be donated to a Place for Her, a BayCare program that provides free bra fittings and at-cost bras and prosthesis to uninsured and underinsured clients at their Plant City location.

You can be a part of our Pink Patch Project by purchasing pink patches and keychains at the Plant City Chamber of Commerce (106 North Evers Street) and Jarrett Scott Ford (2000 East Baker Street).

The Elks Club honored our entire Communications Section team as Employees of the Year! They are very deserving of this honor-they dispatch both fire and police calls. Comm Center employees are the unsung heroes in public safety nationwide-Great job!!!

Today, the Plant City Elks Lodge held their annual Christmas Luncheon for members of the Plant City Police Department. After a delicious meal, the entire PCPD Communications Unit was presented with an award by the Elks Lodge for "Employee of the Year". PCPD Dispatchers are the first line of contact in an emergency situation and communicate all police, fire, and emergency medical calls to responding units in the City. Even though they are currently short-staffed, every individual on the Unit has tirelessly worked together to ensure the citizens of Plant City, as well as our Officers and Firefighters, are safe. We congratulate these members and encourage anyone with an interest in becoming a Dispatcher to submit an application for current vacancies.
