ROAD CLOSURES & TRAFFIC REPORTS
Beginning the week of October 21, 2019
• STREET OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT:
o Monday: West Side
o Tuesday: East Side
o Wednesday: Northend
o Thursday: El Rancho/Fairway/Monte Vista
Street Operations crews will be milling and paving Lincoln Avenue on Monday, October 21, 2019 and Tuesday, October 22, 2019. Lincoln Avenue will be closed from Wyeth Street to Clark Street between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm each day during the project.
Street Operations will continue patching potholes and curb lines in preparation for upcoming pavement treatments, which may require intermittent lane closures and possible temporary road closures as work is performed.
• PAVEMENT MARKINGS
Street Operations Department will continue painting crosswalks and other pavement markings in various parts of the city. There will be intermittent lane closures while crews are painting. Drivers are advised to use caution to avoid wet paint and may experience delays at the work
• IDAHO TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT:
• I-15 ROAD CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
Reconstruction of Rose Road Interchange on I-15. This project will improve mobility and safety on Interstate 15. Construction will be completed in late 2019.
• Northgate Overpass above I-15 is currently under construction and projected to be completed by November 1, 2019.
• ENGINEERING: No reports
A-Plus Contractor will be closing Fairgrounds Road for replacement of sewer lines. Closure will be at Chubbuck Road and Olympus Drive. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes. A-Plus Contractor expects to have Fairgrounds Road closed for 3 weeks. If you have questions on this project you can call Merril Quayle Public Works Engineer at 208-234-6228
• WATER POLLUTION CONTROL:
• JETTING SEWER LINES
Crews will be jetting sewer lines throughout the city. Motorists may experience delays or lane closures while crews are performing the work.
• PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT:
• BENTON STREET BRIDGE
Southbound shoulder on 1st Ave., under the Benton Street Bridge, will be closed periodically for the next few months, as needed, to allow the Contractor to perform work. Benton Street Bridge will be reduced to one lane of traffic each direction over the bridge.
• WATER DEPARTMENT:
• PROJECT ON NORTH LINCOLN AVENUE
Beginning Monday, September 16, 2019, crews from the City of Pocatello Water Department will begin installing a new water line on North Lincoln Avenue. The project is anticipated to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
Crews will work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday. During the project, access to the construction area will be restricted and sections of the street will be completely closed while workers are digging. Every effort will be made to provide local access to the area when possible. Parking will also be restricted in the construction zone and residents are asked to park all vehicles away from the area during the day. At the close of each day, access will be restored to all properties. Residents with questions about the project are asked to contact the City of Pocatello Water Department at 208-234-6174.
• PORTNEUF VALLEY FARMERS MARKET May 4th – October 26th 5-8 PM
Union Pacific Avenue and Fremont Street (from Main St. to U.P. Ave) will be closed during this event at the times posted. Old Town Pocatello is hosting the “Portneuf Valley Farmers Market” every Saturday beginning May 4 through October 26, 2019. The event is located at the Old Town Pavilion, 420 N. Main St. The Market is open every Saturday from 9am to 1pm May through October, and every Wednesday May 22 to September 4 from 5-8pm.
