First, thank you to everyone who supported my campaign, volunteered, donated, displayed a sign, shared a post, or cast a vote for me. Your trust and confidence mean more to me than I can adequately express.

While the outcome wasn't what we hoped for, I am grateful for the opportunity to have met so many great people, heard your concerns, and discussed the future of Lake County.

While this campaign has come to an end, my involvement in local government is not over and I plan to remain engaged.

In the meantime, I will continue using this page to discuss county issues, share information, ask questions, and hold our elected officials accountable. Good government works best when citizens stay informed and involved, and I intend to remain an active voice for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and the interests of the people of Lake County.

To everyone who voted for me: thank you. I am honored by your support.

And make no mistake, we'll be back in 2029, stronger, wiser, and better prepared. At that point, there will be no debate about residency and no distractions from the issues that matter most to the people of this county. The focus will be where it belongs: on leadership, accountability, and the future of our community.

Thank you again for your support. This isn't the end, it's simply the beginning of the next chapter of protecting what matters.

It is clear that retaliation began when the establishment used associates to threaten legal action and harass this page. That individual has been blocked, and if harassment continues, it may constitute illegal behavior, in which case legal action will be pursued.

Today I was asked to meet with one of my opponents in the race for County Commissioner representing the Polson district in Lake County.

The meeting was brief. I was asked if I would withdraw from the race after it was discovered that my home is a few streets outside the district boundary. I was not aware of that when I filed and only learned about it afterward.

During the conversation I was also told that if I do not withdraw, someone may file a complaint regarding residency. My opponent refused to say who. He also said that the fact that I was running was good for his numbers.

My response is simple. I will not be strong armed.

I live in Polson. My family lives here. I work here. My son goes to school here.

This community is my home, and I care deeply about its future.

I believe the people of Lake County deserve the opportunity to choose their representatives at the ballot box. That’s exactly what I intend to do.

The fact that he:
• asked to meet privately
• brought up a complaint
• mentioned vote splitting

means that my campaign is being taken seriously. Candidates who aren’t a threat rarely get this kind of attention.

After 21 years in law enforcement, I’ve learned something important.

People don’t ask government for much.

They want safe communities.
They want to keep what they’ve worked hard for.
They want leaders who listen.

That’s what “Protecting What Matters” means to me.

And that’s why I’m running for Lake County Commissioner.

Vote Jesse Hernandez for your next Lake County Commissioner.

I have a question for residents of Lake County.

Have you ever had problems with stray dogs or dangerous animals in your neighborhood?

Maybe a dog chasing livestock…
Running loose in town…
Or repeated complaints with no real solution.

What do you think the county should be doing differently?

One idea I’ve been considering is hiring a single Animal Control Officer and contracting with the local shelter to house and care for animals. Cities and tribal governments could also contribute to the program in exchange for services.

I’d like to hear from you.

What has your experience been?

Protecting what matters.

I’d like to hear from the people of Lake County.

In the comments, tell me one thing county government could be doing better.

No speeches.
Just honest thoughts.

I’m running for County Commissioner because I believe good leadership starts with listening and working toward practical solutions.

Protecting what matters.

As your County Commissioner, I will stand firmly for the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens — including the Second Amendment — oppose government overreach, and support the law enforcement officers who keep our communities safe.
