🚨 Not Every Notary Request Is What It Seems... 🚨
As a Notary Public, I receive messages every week from people asking me to notarize everything from property deeds and living trusts to financial affidavits and tax documents.
Unfortunately, not every request is legitimate.
That's why I ask questions before I schedule an appointment or drive to a signing location.
✔️ Who is signing the document? ✔️ Will all signers be present? ✔️ Do they have valid government-issued photo ID? ✔️ Are they signing willingly and aware of what they're signing? ✔️ What type of document needs to be notarized?
If something doesn't seem right, I will politely decline the appointment.
Protecting the integrity of the notarization process isn't just good business—it's my legal responsibility.
I will never notarize a signature without the signer being personally present, properly identified, and giving their own consent. No exceptions.
