The work zone along Bay St will span from Olney Ave to Arnold Ave. During this work period, Bay St will be down to one lane with flaggers directing traffic. Bay Street/SR 166 Roadside Maintenance

The City of Port Orchard's Public Works Department will be performing maintenance along Bay St (SR166) from Tuesday 9/8 through Thursday 9/17, between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM each day. During this time, Bay St will be reduced to one lane, and flaggers will be on site to safely guide traffic through the work zone.

Crews will be completing seasonal maintenance to prepare the roadway and surrounding areas for the colder, wetter months ahead. This work includes ditching, overhead clearing, vegetation management, and other improvements that will help ensure a smoother transition into fall and winter.

Please expect delays and drive cautiously in work zones. Thank you for your patience as we complete this work!

Sidney Road Sewer Trench Repairs

Beginning Thursday, September 10, construction crews associated with a private development will be remobilizing to Sidney Rd SW between SW Berry Lake Rd and SW Hovde Rd to make repairs to their sewer trench within the roadway.

During the repair work, single-lane alternating traffic control will be in place daily along the corridor. Conditions have been put in place by the City requiring the contractor to accommodate school traffic during school drop-off and pickup times.

Wow, it’s hard to believe that summer is almost over. And what a summer it’s been with our downtown bustling with people and events.

We’ve had some amazing events, two downtown car shows, our weekly farmers’ market, Night Market, Fathom’s Parade, and fireworks show. Many of the events had record attendance.

UPDATE: Due to the rain in the forecast, paving will be delayed a day. Friday we will resume paving operations on Cathie Ave.

The next section in the pavement restoration project will be Cathie Ave SE, with work scheduled from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM on Thursday 9/3.

During this time, the road will remain open for traffic moving southbound (from SE Lund Ave towards Jerry Ln SE / Walmart). There will be flaggers directing traffic in this direction. The road will be closed for northbound traffic, and all the side streets will be blocked off. Please expect delays and use alternate routes, if able.

With school back in session and summer officially coming to an end, the Splash Pad at McCormick Village Park will officially be closed for season after Sunday, September 13.

This event is an opportunity to discuss city initiative, projects, and get answers to your questions. We hope to see you there!

The next pavement restoration project area will be on the corner of Rockwell Ave and Kitsap St. This portion of work will take place on Tuesday 9/1 and Wednesday 9/2 from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. During this time, this section of road will be down to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic.
