Tonight we remember 'Miss Bertha', a longtime volunteer with HELP of Beaufort, who passed away on Friday. Bertha was the longest running volunteer HELP has ever had, 34 years! She was one of our front desk client in-take volunteers so she knew everyone that walked through that door, whether a volunteer or client, and greeted them with her beautiful smile! Due to health reasons, she stepped away from volunteering in 2019 at 94 years of age. Miss Bertha was everyone's Mom it seemed. Coming from being 1 out of 13 children, she was born to help, volunteer and do what she could to give a hand. Anyone that knew her, knows she was sweet as pie and yet wasn't afraid to speak her mind and tell you like it was. Please keep her family in your thoughts at this time...... “Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:21

Bertha was born on January 13th, 1925 and passed away on May 22nd, 2026 at the age of 101
