Do you remember your first Notre Dame Football game? We want to know! Our goal is to create an all-time Notre Dame fan directory that will list the name, hometown, date, and opponent of a fan's first Notre Dame game. The site will also feature stories, pictures, and videos to tell the Notre Dame game experience. To fund the project, we have designed personalized certificates to commemorate the occasion. The Project will also help to support the Ara Parseghian Medical Fund, and Fr. Peyton Centre in Attymas, County Mayo, Ireland. Play like a champion and Gooo IRISH!!
Just an update on the Notre Dame Football Heritage Project. As you know we were in the Notre Dame Business Plan Competition. We did not advance to the 3rd round, but have been invited to be a part of the start up showcase the day before the Blue-Gold Game. We didn't expect to advance to the finals, since it is really an academic experience, but we were disappointed to be told that our Project was a "hobby not a business." Someone has been watching Shark Tank - lol. Anyway, we were also told to try to get a proof of concept with the Project. We have about 3 weeks to prove ourselves. Again, I am appealing to the group to support Jason and to share info about the Project. If it was during football season, it might have different results. We appreciate everyone's support and will continue to promote!
Today in Notre Dame Football History December 7 1940: Coach Elmer Layden exits Notre Dame on a winning note, as his Fighting Irish defeat Southern California 10-6 before 85,808 at the Coliseum in Los Angeles. Layden wins 77 percent of his games over seven seasons (47-13-3) but exits without having won a national title.
