Portage Township School Corporation Our mission is to educate, empower, and inspire excellence. Portage Township Schools is a school district of approximately 7,600 students located in Portage, Indiana.

Our staff believes in the power of educating the whole child. Together, We Excel! Our District community believes in a strong commitment to education, and that dedication is very evident in the programs and opportunities available to our children. Portage's reputation for excellence in academics, the fine arts, and extracurricular programs is well known. Our focus on the whole child means students are educated to become successful, productive citizens who are critical thinkers and who exhibit strong moral character. Our goal is to help each child reach his or her fullest potential. We strongly believe that children learn best when educators develop meaningful partnerships with parents, encouraging and valuing input and feedback from home. We also promote connections with the wider community through our involvement with the Portage Chamber of Commerce, Portage and South Haven Public Libraries,and the City of Portage, Ogden Dunes, South Haven, and Portage Township as a whole. Spooky Sound Effects

The Willowcreek Middle School orchestra class had a Spooky Noise Day for Halloween last week! They learned different sound effects, used in both classical music and film score. Our seventh grade Project Lead the Way students are using TinkerCAD to create prototypes of physical obstacles for the game show America Ninja Warrior. Students are using their knowledge of the human body from Physical Education and Health classes combined with STEM skills to produce some amazing creations.

The TV game show America Ninja Warrior has teamed up with online CAD program TinkerCAD to sponsor a contest for K-12 students to create the next generation of physically imposing and mentally straining obstacles.

Congratulations to PHS students Simone Hooper and Christopher Moreno on being selected as the Porter County Career Center's Outstanding Students for quarter 1! They have been working hard and succeeding in their vocational classes. Simone is a student in the marketing class, and Christopher is a student in the video production and media studies class. Great job, Simone and Christopher! #PortageProud

Today we celebrated our Outstanding Students of the Quarter for first quarter. Students were chosen by their teacher as the Outstanding Student based upon performance, attitude, character, and much more. Students were recognized with a certificate and a small token of appreciation.

Our Portage High School/Porter County Career Center HOSA students enrolled in Mrs. Wilson's Health Occupations vocational class are being recognized by their Indiana HOSA chapter for their generous donation to Beacon Children's Hospital!

Last school year, the students hosted the Prom Fashion and Expo Show as a service project for the class. The students raised $3,700 for the pediatric cancer patients at Beacon Children's Hospital. The money will be used to create family and patient care baskets.

Great job to our HOSA students on hosting a fun event for our community and raising money for an important cause! #PortageProud
