Goonies Day in Astoria, Oregon
Short Circuit 40th Anniversary Celebration

For decades, fans have gathered in Astoria to celebrate The Goonies and the films that helped put Oregon on the cinematic map.
What started as a fan gathering grew into something much larger, welcoming visitors from around the world who share a love of movies, nostalgia, filmmaking, and the Oregon Coast itself.
In recent years, leadership of the annual celebration transitioned from our team to our friends at the Oregon Film Museum & Clatsop County Historical Society, who are continuing the tradition while expanding the focus to include other iconic films and anniversaries.
*
This year’s featured celebration is the Official Short Circuit 40th Anniversary Celebration & Astoria Film Celebration, June 5–7, 2026, which is being produced by .
While The Goonies may not be the primary focus this year, fans will still find the same spirit that made these gatherings special:
🎬 cast appearances
🎬 behind-the-scenes stories
🎬 film screenings
🎬 fandom fun like a retro market & 80s prom
🎬 and a community of movie lovers gathering in Astoria
We’re excited to see the event continue to evolve and bring new film fans to the Oregon Coast.
