Habitat for Humanity of Oregon Together, let's to a world where everyone has a safe, affordable place to call home.

Founded in 1995 through a covenant between Habitat for Humanity International and local Habitat organizations, Habitat for Humanity of Oregon works alongside the offices of dedicated staff and volunteers building and repairing homes across our state. We help advance homeownership throughout Oregon by supporting affiliates in the following areas:

-Training and technical assistance for Habitat staf

-Fundraising and lending to fuel the work of Habitat in communities statewide
-Public policy and advocacy work toward our vision that every Oregonian has a safe and stable place to call home
-Disaster resilience, response and recovery support as Habitat staff stabilize their organizations and local communities through tumultuous times
-The increasingly important work of advancing racial equity and housing justice throughout our state and beyond.

Building more than homes — we’re building partnerships.

We recently joined leaders from the Office of Governor Tina Kotek and Oregon Housing and Community Services at McMinnville Area Habitat for Humanity's Aspire build site. These volunteers experienced firsthand how affordable homeownership strengthens Oregon communities.

Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and eagerness to return remind us what’s possible when we build together. 💪🔨

Habitat for Humanity's largest-ever project is now underway in Southwest Portland's Hillsdale neighborhood. We were thrilled to join Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, Oregon Housing and Community Services, and members from the office of Governor Tina Kotek on the build site today.

This landmark 52‑home development shows what’s possible when community partnership and strategic public investment come together to expand affordable homeownership at scale. Once complete, Gooseberry Trails will provide permanently affordable homes and long‑term stability for roughly 230 future residents.

The project is part of a growing statewide effort led by Habitat for Humanity of Oregon and 23 local affiliates working from the coast and the gorge to the high desert and across the valley. Together, Habitat organizations are scaling production to meet Oregon’s housing needs and open the door to homeownership opportunities for more families across the state.

Habitat for Humanity is building for-sale homes on former church land in southwest Portland, marking its largest project in Oregon to date.
