Susan Phiropoulos was one of our courageous cancer survivors. Unfortunately, Susan lost her battle on July 26th.

"I have set up a online t-shirt fundraiser to help my best friend, Andrea, cover her mothers final funeral expenses.

Susan was a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend who never met a stranger and would do anything for anyone. Susan fought and beat colon cancer. Unfortunately, the cancer returned more aggressive and Susan lost her battle at the age of 51 on July 26th.

Andrea works 3 jobs to pay her mothers final expenses, as well as keep her household and her fathers household running.

Please assist me in assisting Andrea with relieving some of the burden that is on her shoulders.

If you live local, I have set it up to have the option of the shirts delivered to me and I will set up a meeting time/place.

At the end of the fundraiser I will deliver the check directly to Andrea.

Fellow Relayers, Survivors, and Caregivers,
We just want to take this moment to thank each one of you who have been with us whether it was for one year or the entire time Washington Co. Has had Relay. Your efforts and hard word has never gone unnoticed.

It is with sad news to inform you all that Washington Co. RFL is no longer. American Cancer Society has dropped us and decided to merge Washington Co. To St.francois Co. This was due to lack of interest and funding. Sadly this past fall we also lost our beloved staff partner Rae Koopman. (She is doing well and sends her love to each of you)

This past fall Ashley and myself, got to meet with the committee over in St.Francois co. They are very welcoming, and excited to have any teams from Washington Co. Join them in the same cause and efforts we worked so hard on here in Washington Co.

If you are interested in joing St. Francois County RFL please contact Seth Gibson via FB messenger. I will be glad to direct you into the right direction.

Again thank you for making the past years so amazing . I will miss working with you all!

RFL is just a few days away! its not to late to set up a booth, or a team and come show your support. if you are interested in joining us friday night at the potosi elementary school please let us know. there is no entry fees to set up.

This is a open invite to anyone who wishes to participate.. we will be going around main street tomorrow evening and putting purple ribbons and decorating for relay for life. All help is welcome and much appreciated. Please meet at the court house lawn at 6pm.

This post is open to anyone who is in the Washington County area, on a team, the RFL Committee or just a general participant.

We are reaching out and are looking for anyone with interest in joining the 2016 Relay Committee. There is always so much planning and work to do. From event planning... fundraising... and event set up and breakdown, we need amazing and dedicated people to make a event happen for a group of people who deserve it most.

Everyone is affected by cancer one way or another. How will you help fight back? By joining as a participant? Registering as a care giver or a survivor? Or reaching out to your local RFL? when I joined the Washington Co. RFL years ago I never realized how rewarding and how many lives I have touched by just simply volunteering to the cause. My journey began as helping with painting the town purple and decorating for the event. A couple years later I was asked to step up and Co chair. Which was even bigger shoes to fill. Although I loved it. :) next came the big job as chairman. It took alot of decision making. Reaching out to local families, businesses and alot of hours of work. Thank goodness in my heart I loved doing what I was doing for a reason.

We each have a reason to relay. We all have a story. Most importantly we all have the one goal... to find that cure!

My journey with Washington County RFL has been amazing and I wouldn't trade it for anything! It saddens me that this year will conclude my journey as a RFL Chairman. Although the show must go on... it takes a special person who has that special passion to lead a event such as RFL.

If you have any interest in joining the 2016 RFL committee please contact us and let us know. If you would like to step up as a individual or a group or a team and take on the committee you may also contact us.

We hope you have a great RFL year and grow into a world of imagination and passion.

The Washington County Relay for Life will be holding its annual kick off meeting on Monday, March 14th at the Washington County Library. The meeting will be in the basement meeting hall from 6:00 PM – 7:00PM.

We will be discussing details about out new event location and theme details leading up to the event.



Washington County Relay for life will be held on Friday, June 24th at the Potosi Elementary School.

Survivors registration will begin at 3:30 PM Survivors Dinner (Sponsored by JR’s Bar and Grill) will be held at 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Opening Ceremony will begin at 6:00 PM.

The entire event will last until midnight.

Exciting News!!!! Take a breath of fresh air. And don't worry about wipping away the sweat!! Our new location for the Washington County Relay for Life has been approved. Our Event will be held on Friday, June 24th 2016. Survivors Dinner / Registry will begin 4:00PM - 5:30PM. Relay Event and Laps begin 6:00PM - 12:00AM.
We are working on some awesome entertainment and details which will be coming soon.
We are reaching out to all current teams and former teams and encourage you to join us again at our new indoor, and air conditioned location. The Potosi Elementary School located off State Hwy P. Potosi Mo.

Watch soon for information regarding our kick off meeting to get the year started.
