Good afternoon. It has come to the department’s attention that accusations have been circulating on social media regarding this traffic stop. In the interest of transparency, we are releasing the body camera footage to address these concerns and clarify the events that occurred. Please note that all private and legally protected information has been redacted in accordance with applicable privacy laws. All individuals involved in this interaction are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

CRIME ALERT

Last night MSP was alerted to a suspicious individual in the City, and later arrested an individual who stated he broke into several vehicles in town. If you have had your vehicle broke into or items taken in the last 48 hours, please reach out to Trooper Piperharris at 989-824-0890.

Off-road and snow tires are great for getting going in slippery conditions, but they won't help you stop when that icy patch comes out of nowhere. Your best bet is to just remember to slow down... You can rip your monster truck through the mud in the summer, but take it easy on the white stuff.

Good evening fellow winter warriors!

Quick tip from the snowy trenches: You may think high beams are going to help you see better, but enabling warp speed is not very conducive to getting where you need to go safely. Keep the low beams on, so you can at least try to spot Bambi before he decides to play frogger.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be resurfacing M-100 between I-69 and Doane Highway beginning Monday. Work will include installing Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)-compliant sidewalks and culvert replacement. This is expected to be complete on August 15th. This project will require intermittent single-lane closures throughout its duration. Drivers should expect delays.

Please remember this 4th of July weekend to have fun and stay safe! Fireworks are allowed statewide from June 29th-July 5th until 11:45pm. NO Fireworks of any kind are allowed at the City Park or Lake Alliance.
