Kennedy for Kitsap County Clerk

Kennedy for Kitsap County Clerk An office no one challenges is an office that no one is improving. Brien Kennedy is running for Kitsap County Clerk in the November 3rd, 2026 General Election

To everyone who filled out a ballot this cycle — thank you.

Whatever the final numbers show, something happened here that hasn’t happened in years.

Kitsap County voters had an actual choice for Clerk. Not a name on a ballot with no opponent. A real decision.

That’s not nothing. Three contested races in 28 years — and you just took part in one of them.

More soon. For now — thank you.

There is a few hours left to get your ballots in! Thank you so much to everyone who has taken the time to interact with my campaign in some way. Especially thank you to the people who let me into their home, or place a sign in their yard. I am committed to bringing a youthful energy to Kitsap County and we are only just getting started.

After the primary, you can expect a revamped site experience, an inside peek at the app we've developed and a lot of unique activations.

in the meantime, I thought you'd like to know that in the last two days of the primary, there has been so much traffic on the webpage that it had to come down (temporarily), wont happen again! Thank you Kitsap! I'm expecting a big result from my fellow challengers! Daria Ilgen for State Representative & Joe Lombardi for Kitsap County Prosecutor

$9.8 million. That's the hole Kitsap County is staring down for 2027.

The plan right now: raise sales tax a tenth of a percent, or cut up to 60 positions. Every department, including the one I work in, has been told to prepare a budget for both, because nobody knows yet which one we get.

Here's the part that should make every one of us angry. Even if the tax increase passes, it only raises about $7.7 million a year. That still leaves a $2 million gap, in the same year, in the same budget.

We're not fixing a deficit. We're hoping people keep paying more into a math problem that doesn't close.
Every dollar this county spends was earned income for someone in Kitsap first. A paycheck. A small business register. A grocery budget stretched a little thinner.

We don't get to treat it like it shows up from nowhere, and we don't get to keep kicking the real fix down the road and hoping next year's tax covers it.

Three choices in 28 years. Let's start confronting the numbers instead of hoping around them.

Please make your voice heard and vote by August 4

Greetings from Gorst.

A couple days ago it was Indianola, Kingston, and Twin Spits, about as far north as this county goes. Today it's Gorst, close to the opposite end of the map.

Relentless energy doesn't pick a side of the county. It shows up on both ends of it, in the same week, because the job doesn't stop at the ferry line or at Bainbridge.

Signs planted. Still knocking on doors. This one's for every corner of Kitsap, not just the parts that are easy to reach.

Vote by August 4.

The 23rd Legislative District Democrats just approved my candidacy for Kitsap County Clerk.

This is the district I live in. Neighbors who actually know the area looked at the record and decided I've earned it.

That's two organizations so far this cycle, alongside the Kitsap County Democratic Women. Approvals like this don't happen because of a name. They happen because people did the work of checking.

Three choices in 28 years. Let's try something new.

Indianola. Kingston. Twin Spits, north of Hansville.

Rain most of the day.

Feet were done by hour three.

Cell service
dropped out twice.

I went anyway.
Managed to get a few signs planted for my good friend, Joe Lombardi for Kitsap County Prosecutor. The Prosecutor’s office could use an upgrade too 😛.

Our county doesn't stop at the ferry terminals and the neighborhoods everyone already knocks.

It runs all the way to the dead-end roads at the top of the map, and the people out there deserve the same visit as anyone in Poulsbo or Silverdale.
Relentless energy means going the extra mile for my neighbors, not just through August 4th, every day after it too.

Ballots are due soon. Vote by August 4.

Got a video today of a young voter casting her ballot in a Kennedy for Clerk shirt and it made my whole day.

Meet — she’s launching a new coffee cart soon, so keep an eye out and go support her when she’s up and running.

It’s always great to earn the support of young people. I’m excited and hopeful more of them show up and participate in this election, in whatever way that looks like for them.

Ballots are due August 4th. Get yours in.

Everyone's obsessed with a scrappy, short-legged underdog who came out of nowhere and won people over. Same energy over here. Our county hasn't had a real choice at the ballot box in 28 years. Let's fix that.

I recently sat down for a recorded zoom interview, as did my opponent. The full interview with the Kitsap County League of women voters is live on YouTube.

This one's worth the watch. Both candidates answer the same questions, back to back. No filter, no spin, just direct responses side by side.

That format matters. It's rare in this race to get a real, unscripted look at how each of us thinks on our feet and what we'd actually bring to this office. Watch it and draw your own conclusions about who's ready to do this work.
