Last night Prentiss Fire held its Summer Appreciation dinner. I personally want to think each and everyone of our Firefighters for the hard work and dedication they put into not only Prentiss but surrounding communities as well. It takes everyone to keep this ball rolling and the sacrifices of you and your families are not unnoticed. Thank you Mayor Waites and Board for the support to Prentiss Fire and the Citizens we serve. With the potential for up to 8inches of rain through Friday roadways streams and creeks will certainly become flooded. We ask the public to please stay off the roadways during this time. If you have to be on the road and come across a flooded patch of roadway please do not cross it. Turn around don’t drown. Please be patient with first responders as some response time could be delayed. Thank you and stay safe.

Yesterday Prentiss Fire enjoyed a day of CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) training focusing on vehicles operating on CNG and better understanding how CNG is collected, stored, used and how to safely address CNG as First Responder. After class session was completed we were able to do a walk through at Waste Management to see first hand how a CNG system is used within there operations.

What an honor to represent Prentiss Fire Department at this years 89th MS. Fire Chiefs/Firefighters Summer Conference. Enjoyed catching up with friends from across the state and meeting new ones as well. With over 600 Fire Chiefs and Firefighters signed up for this year’s conference I’m excited to see what the future holds for the associations as they continue to grow and represent the best interests of the Mississippi Fire Service. It is a great opportunity to network and gain crucial knowledge and training to better serve our communities. I encourage everyone to join and become a member of either or both associations.
